scootover7ParticipantWho in your opinion had the best draft? Here are my top three teams
1) Washington Wizards- I love how they selected Jan Vesely with the 6th pick. I feel that Vesely will compliment John Wall very well. I actually had him going to Utah with the 3rd pick. The 18th pick selecting Chris Singleton was good because it gives you a good defensive player. Then the 34th pick going and getting Shelvin Mack from Butler who can backup John Wall I felt was a smart pick. I’m very impressed with the selections the Wizards took. Great job.
2) Utah Jazz- I loved that they took Enes Kanter although I felt they should have took Vesely. Kanter I feel will be good. I feel theres a bit of a logjam at the 4 and 5. You have Al Jefferson, Paul Millsap, Derrick Favors and Mehmet Okur. Then the 12th pick to me was the most impressive taking Alec Burks. I felt taking this 6 foot 6 combo guard was genius and can provide a spark off the bench right away. I didn’t think Burks would have been at the 12 so I was surprised and happy for the Jazz. Great job
3) Charlotte Bobcats- I like the players they selected especially in the first round. You took Bismack Biyombo which gives you a defensive center. So I like this. Then the 9th pick taking Kemba Walker I really like this selection for the Bobcats. Kemba can play defense and get to the rim. I like these two first round picks for the Bobcats.
Who else do you think had a good draft? Tell me your opinions on this This article was written from http://nbaballinstuff.blogspot.com

SwatLakeCityParticipantJazz definitely had a good draft. They selected just who they should have selected. They do have a bit of a logjam but he was the BPA at 3. Sometimes that’s the best way to go instead of always drafting for need. They can always trade one of their bigman. (I think it will be Jefferson) Yes, Jan Vesely would have filled a need, and yes he is very athletic but not as good as Enes Kanter. The Jazz really got the BPA. And at 12 they did go for need. They haven’t had a shooting guard like Alec Burks since the days of Stockton and Malone. (Yikes)
I’m not quite sure what the Cavs were thinking picking Tristan Thompson at 4. Yeah he may have had a good workout against Enes Kanter, but that just shows that he’s a hard worker. That is something good about him but at some point you’ve got to realize his true talent. They should have picked Jonas like they had planned.

Meditated StatesParticipantCeltics did good, but I think they might regret trading Marshon Brooks.

BBall4life88ParticipantCharlotte Bobcats had a decent draft but they traded away their best players, they’re going to be terrible next year.

bigdaddybluesmanParticipantI think Cleveland blew it and the Jazz had the best draft.
Very quietly the Spurs scored huge with their dealings. At first I thought Leonard was just OK, after studying him I think he’ll be a bit time player especially under Pop.
A few teams like the Nets did well too considering what little they had to work with. Washington might have also helped themselves. But the big winner IMO is the Jazz and the big loser is the Cavs. Minny did well despite themselves, I see a team with great talent that will be at the bottom year after year until each player can depart when their contracts run out, they are a clueless franchise.
I said it before if the Cavs draft Williams they are in the drivers seat for trades and could still fill their roster but they IMO blew it. They will be in the next few lotteries so they still have a chance to get it right. As will Minny.
The Nets got a player they needed, a scoring wing that Deron can get the ball to. Avery will be working with this kid. Some other teams also made the best of their picks and got future solid professionals that will be good players to build with not around.

omphalosParticipantI was very disappointed when the Celtics traded Brooks after passing on Tyler aswell, I don’t see Johnson being anything more than a role player, whereas Brooks had star potential.

GottaBeTheShoesParticipantThe Nuggets had a really good draft. They got a tremendous rebounder in Faried to fill the PF spot and then got Jordan Hamilton in a trade. Hamilton fell but he has a high ceiling and is certainly a lottery talent. They filled their main hole in getting Faried and got a good talent in Hamilton.

GottaBeTheShoesParticipant@Sup… Jimmer got drafted by the bucks but they were picking for the Kings. He was traded to the Kings soon after.

SubZeroParticipantWizards, Jazz, Kings, Golden State, Celtics, Bobcats all had good drafts. I think we’ve all learned to never doubt the Spurs either. What does everyone think of the Reggie Jackson pick?

TyroberParticipantI think the Pistons had a good draft. They really just picked the best player available and just didn’t screw anything up with Knight and Singler

JNixonParticipantUtah had a strong draft. Kanter is a strong building block from the C spot. He will play extended time immediately. Alec Burks isn’t ready to start, but he should also be a big factor in the rotation as a rookie. He won’t reach his potential until his shot gets better though.
I think Washington added guys who are willing to compete on D which is what they needed most IMO. And they added guys who can play both forward spots as to sort of push Blatche and add versatility on the defensive end. Vesely will definitely play right away, and Mack could be a 2nd or 3rd PG on opening night as well.

WizardofOzParticipant^^^ Who do you think gets more minutes in Washingtton next season? Vesely or Singleton? My bets on Singleton.

SupParticipantOh well that sucks for both teams. Kemba Walker is the only player who may shine. Jordan will get the best out of him.

kobyzParticipantto me it’s Utah Jazz, they add the most value, Enes Kanter is a very quality big and Alec Burks has star power, potential wise he is top 3 player in this draft, great fit and fill big need.

aamir543ParticipantAs a Golden State fan for around 8 years, we have drafted guys that have been servicable in this league (J Rich, Dunleavey, Beadrins, Peatris) but not even close to somone who can change the course of a franchise. I loved the Curry pick, and Monta was a great find, but other than that, and trading for Stephen Jack, we have not done very well personel wise in the last ten years. then last night, we get 3 great picks, and I wonder, "What the hell! Are the new owners really that good?" Then I realized, we had the one and only Jerry West. I have been raving about Jeremy Tyler for the last year, but not once did I think my Warriors would get him. I did not think that because we wouldn’t be able to get him, because we just wouldn’t see the talent, then out of nowhere we get him, and we get terrific value in Charles Jenkins. I know this is getting old, but I Love Jerry West!!!!!!!!!

iguapops420ParticipantSingleton is foul prone. Can’t really see him getting as many minutes as Jan. Not to mention for all of Singleton’s great defensive ability, the guys team actually played better when he got injured and went down late in the season. Never really saw what was so incredible about him. Not a bad pick, but never saw the lottery potential in him.
