CanuckBallerParticipanthttp://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=z3388kp Post trade to ESPN
I found a trade that seems to work for everybody involved. Cleveland takes on some risky locker room guys in Markeef Morris & Hassan Whiteside but sheds salary. They like Miami will have trouble signing Whiteside next season as he doesn’t come with Bird Rights like Mozgov will for Miami. Miami moves some salary to lessen their cap hit and gain a solid rim protector that they can retain for next year. Portland takes on some talent into cap space to make the trade work and Phoenix gets rid of Markieef for a solid locker room guy in Varejao who has less long term money owed.
Cleveland gets Whiteside & Morris for 9 million. Shedding Mozgov 5m, Varejao 9.3 M & Thompson 14.3 M saves them 17.3 million in salary and significantly more in luxury taxes. They may even consider trading Love for Olynyk, Crowder & Dallas pick (maybe even Brooklyn pick) for considerable more cap savings to be able to resign Whiteside.
Starting 5- James, Whiteside, Morris, Irving, JR Smith with Crowder, Olynyk, Shumpert, Mo Williams & Delladova off bench. Still need another big but have trade exceptions, trade assets and now have salary cap space to take on players. Not as much offence but have a better defensive lineup for Golden State & San Antonio and much more cap friendly.
