kong47272ParticipantDraft Picks or Cap Space?
Several teams have been cutting cap space for a couple of years now in hopes for the great FA summer of 2010 but the 2010 Draft is shaping up to be a pretty solid draft.
FA’s give you a proven star…. but have total control over where they go
Draft picks are unproven… but you don’t risk walking away empty handed.
*Edit*
Ok lets say….
enough cap room to sign 2 top tier FA’s
or
3 Frist round picks (1 of which will be top 5, 2nd will be top 10, and the third will be top 20)
As for team lets say your market is like Chicago, good but not great media pull

McWinningParticipantit all matter how much cap space, and how much money?

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantI would prefer draft picks since they seem much safer to pursue. Most teams don’t have enough money to pursue more than one big name next year, and the teams that do (Memphis and Minnesota) never attract anybody through free agency. Correct me if I’m wrong, but every big-name player that these franchises have had over the past 15 years has either come by way of trades or the draft.

esperanzafleet69Participantespecially this draft, prolly some picks… you can always be outbid by anybody… and having money doesnt necessarily mean your going to turn your team around…. you can spend 15 million on someone who could end up being very bad… (see eddy curry/ ben wallace deals by chi and NY, probably the worst signings ever…) idk id rather, especially in this economy, take the risk on a draft pick who will make a small salary than spending a lot of money on a deal that could potentially not work at all…

jerb2011ParticipantIf it’s a team like Minnisota, OKC, or the Knicks, were many players don’t want to go, or don’t know about for OKC, then I want draft picks. But If I am Cleveland, San Antonio, LA, Chicago, playoff caliber teams, then I want cap space.

jojososaParticipantBoth seem good to me but as talented as tha 2010 draft is, tha 2010 FA class is one of tha best in many years, if u r one of tha 9 teams wif cap space u have tha potential to add solid number 1 and 2 options to your team, u can expect a much quicker turn around from ur team through FA rather than tha draft.
