The8thDeadlySinParticipantSo you dont often get much production out of second round picks but your team needs a PG. Which one are you taking?
Demetrius Jackson
Isaiah Cousins
Isaiah Whitehead
Gary Peyton II
Tyler Ulis
Cat Barber
Kay FelderLots of accomplished players here. Sons of NBA players, National Champs, All Conference players, ect…
This is just a personal opinion, and its probably the wrong one, BUT, I would take Kay Felder. He looks like the typical small NBA player that can score in bunches. Lead the nation in assists and averaged around 20 a game. Cousins and Peyton are probably the safe choices because of body and style of play. If its me, I am taking the chance on the dynamite player, not the solid role player. If you have to draft in the second rounder, the pick is most likely going to be a non-factor. Why not swing for the home run??
Who are you taking in the second if you need a PG?

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantMy team needs a PG.. SO if I’m the Sixers I’ll take Gabe York. Shooter that is very athletic and can dribble.. Would fit great with Simmons.

JoeWolf1I’d hardly call Gabe York a point guard. He averaged 2.2 assists, and 2.1 turnovers. He’s a heck of an outside shooter, who has the capability to get hot, but I’d have to think his NBA appeal is on the lower end due to his lack of size for a shooting guard, and lack of tangible point guard skills.

HayatoKanzaki1ParticipantFor my team (warriors), we need someone that we can groom to be the Igoudala of the future, so i really want them to get GPII somehow. I think he’d be very beneficial for the Warriors off the bench.

surveParticipantall the guys you named are good and have strong points that will see some of them become successful. I am high on Jackson and Ullis. I know Cat personally and can tell you he really put a lot of work into his game before this season, he has the work ethic. but mark my words. Marcus Paige will be a steal in this draft as far as PGs are concerned, maybe period. he’s gonna look so much better in the league and out of Roy’s system. my only concern is his strength. he can do some of everything though. remember I said it.

Chilbert arenasParticipantI really think Kay Felder going to make it if given the chance.
If I’m looking for a cheaper more athletic Delly I go after GP3.
I’m not touching Cat Barber, if Russ Smith can’t stay in the league I don’t know why Cat would

kobyzParticipantDemetrius Jackson is the safest to be a nice backup, could be a more atheltic Norris cole…

machu46ParticipantI’d be surprised if Jackson is actually available in the 2nd round. Excluding him, I’d go with Cat Barber on that list I think. You at least know you’re getting tremendous speed, ball-handling, and scoring instincts with him.

binetParticipantHis body is ready. He is humble and would contribute greatly as a bench perimeter defender. I am expecting him to be a better Norris Cole, what seems like a great deal for a secound rounder.
His physicality and work ethic will make him stick in this league and his personality should be a plus.
He might even be taken at the end of the first round by a team drafting needs and potential popularity(the son of an HoFer is something to please fans) rather than "mock-draft-best-available" allegations.

JoeWolf1I think Isaiah Cousins is probably your safest bet. I think he’s going to surprise some people, he’s got a great outside shot, and is a pretty decent size for a PG. I think Whitehead has more upside, so he’d be right in the mix as well, but I think I favor Cousins. I have a feeling he’s going to be a rock solid reserve for a long time, a la Chris Duhon. Plus unlike a lot of the guys on this list, he doesn’t give up size defensively (6’6.25” wingspan, 6’4.5” in shoes)

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantDemetrius Jackson could be a steal in the second round if he lasts that long. He is probably the only guy on this list who I could see developing into a starting pg but his pg skills still need to develop a little more.
I don’t think ulis will last to the second round. His upside isnt as great as Jackson, but he’s probably the best pure pg in this draft and should at least be a solid back up.
Felder could make it in the league if he gets the right opportunity. Probably won’t have the same impact but his game is very similar to Isiah Thomas. I think he could at least be a nice change of pace guy who provides scoring punch off the bench which to me is worth a second round pick.
Payton is an athlete and competitor who probably has enough size to guard both backcourt positions. His offensive game isn’t great but if he develops a little more of a consistent jumper he could probably find a niche in the league. Hes worth a second round pick imo.
As for the others, none really strike me as guys who will wind up playing a lot of pg. Whitehead is clearly a 2 to me. Barber is an undersized 2. He could play some point but he is much more wired to score the ball and if you draft him with the expectation he will play pg primarily I think you’ll be disappointed. I do think it’s possible he could be effective in a Lou Williams type of role though. Cousins I just don’t see as an NBA player. Too many holes in his game.
