Mad MaxParticipantI know this off-season has been dominated by LeBron and Carmelo, but lets face it there were only two teams that had a chance in each player’s case. However if I were a team I’d be going very hard after Eric Bledsoe and Greg Monroe.
I know the Rockets have wiffed on Bosh and let Parsons walk for nothing and traded quality players (granted overpriced) in Lin and Asik for basically a washing machine, but I would be throwing that money at Eric Bledsoe. I belive Bledsoe is going to be a stud for years to come, and his last season in Phoenix as a full time starter proved that. He’s a good fit in Houston next to Harden. Although if I were Phoenix, I’d probably match just about any offer for Bledsoe. Overall point, teams should be fighting tooth and nail to get Bledsoe to sign an offer sheet.
Greg Monroe on the other hand is the best available big man, and I believe will be a offensive force for many years. His numbers in Detroit were solid, but Monroe has been limited due to poor guard play, poor coaching, terrible fits playing with Smith and Drummond at the same time. I feel like Monroe really hasn’t had a chance to fully breakout and can put up bigger numbers. Monroe is a proven, quality big who doesn’t miss games, that there is worth good money. OKC desperatly needs a low-post scorer, and can give the Thunder much needed balance on offense. Also, Ibaka is a great fit next to Monroe as a good jump shooter and help side defender/shot blocker.
I’m not sure where these two will land, but Bledsoe and Monroe would be at the top of my wish list for just about any team.
Bledsoe: Phx, Hou, Mia
Monroe: OKC, Phx, Mia, Orl, Wsh

HitsterParticipantMonroe won’t go to Orlando or Washington as they have PF position covered and Washington have filled up most of their cap space. Miami could be a legit option but that depends on what terms D-Wade agrees, also are Monroe and Bosh a bit too much alike in their play.
As far as I know Detroit haven’t made him an offer yet, are they waiting to see what comes in and will then look to match. Surely they would know if they want to retain him and what price they would go to.
Depending on what cap space Houston have post moving Parsons, Asik, Lin and signing Ariza, they could possibly look at Monroe as a running mate for Harden and D12.
Philly could be a possibility, I know they have Embiid and Noel as their long term frontcourt but with Embiid out for several months and 96 minutes of frontcourt play to fill per game then Sam Hinkie might make a frontloaded offer to Monroe to help fill cap space. If Embiid and Noel then become his main duo, Hinkie would have a nice trade piece in Monroe on a decreasing deal.

Chilbert arenasParticipantI think it’s understood Detroit and Phoenix will most likely match any offer they get. At least as Suns fan I really hope they do!!

mixtape2003ParticipantYea I’m suprised that there hasn’t been much talk about teams going after them, it was out there that the Jazz was going to match any offer for Hayward and the Hornets still signed him to an offer sheet

phila9012ParticipantI am surprised that the 76ers haven’t made a play for a young restricted free agent like bledsoe or monroe or hayward or parsons or the unrestricted free agent lance stephenson. They have a bunch of cap space and at least 3 guys on rookie contracts. Which would mean long term flexibility isnt really a problem either if their signing failed, they had nothing to lose from it and it would have helped speed up the rebuilding process and given them another young asset.

benny15Participanti actually thought that the hornets would make a play for monroe after utah matched their offer to gordon hayward. post passing from mcroberts was a big factor in their offensive sets and would definitely need to address that need since he has taken his talents to south beach.
greg monroe would provide as an upgrade in the position having a simillar role but also being a more capable scorer. i know charlote drafted 2 big men in the past 2 years with their lotto picks but i honestly believe that neither one of them is ready yet to be a critical piece. getting monroe would help in the immediete playing next to al jeff and in the long term when jefferson is on the decline and zeller or vonleh would be starting next to greg.
