torontoraptors10ParticipantLets say if you were an unrestricted free agent in the NBA, where would you want to take your talents? Please list your top 5 destinations that you would definitely take into consideration.
Mine are:
- Toronto Raptors
- Minnesota Timberwolves
- Utah Jazz
- Chicago Bulls
- Portland Trail Blazers
What would your bottom 5 be and why?

NbanflguyParticipantTop 5:
- Minnesota Timberwolves
- Oklahoma City Thunder
- Phoenix Suns
- Miami Heat
- NY Knicks
In reality I would really only want the top 3 and The Timberwolves would be my top choice by far
Bottom 5:
- Spurs
- Lakers
- Raptors
- Celtics
- Mavericks

mcbaileyParticipantIt’s hard for me to definitively say without being much of an athlete. Like…it’s easy to say "I would LOVE to go (insert team here) and help that franchise along," but a part of me knows that I’d be changing my tune if a team like the Lakers or Miami dumped a truck load of cold, hard cash on my front lawn. I don’t know why they’d do that and not, say, offer a contract, but I digress. Having said all that:
My top 5:
1.) Indiana Pacers
2.) New York Knicks
3.) Washington Wizards
4.) Golden State Warriors
5.) Utah Jazz
My Bottom 5:
1.) LA Lakers
2.) Chicago Bulls
3.) Boston Celtics
4.) San Antonio Spurs
5.) Cleveland Cavaliers
It’s weird, but the top 5 were a lot harder to think of than the bottom.

HaleParticipantTop 5
1. Phoenix
2. Chicago
3. OKC
4. New York
5. LAC/Dallas
Bottom 5:
1. Spurs-
2. Lakers
3. Celtics
4. Heat
5. Toronto I guess
Reasoning: I hate the top 3 teams so much, and I’m not big on the Heat either. For Toronto I just wouldn’t want to play outside the US I guess.

mcbaileyParticipantHe’s essentially saying that you’re wrong for liking teams that are generally unpopular.

NbanflguyParticipantActually I am moving the Mavericks up into a team i would consider playing for. Ha I remember a Sports Illustrated article i read a few years ago. In their lockeroom they have like flat screen tv’s and xbox IN the players locker stalls!

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantHonestly more than anything I’d want a chance to win a championship but still get significant playing time and money so it would depend on what position and style I played in the league.
For example if I was a SG that could score and defend, Chicago and LAC would probably be my first options. If I was a true center with an offensive post game and some defensive ability (a Marc Gasol type) I would lean towards OKC. If I was an unstoppable scorer but a bit deficient at the opposite end of the floor a team like the Sixers would be very appealing. If I was a young big man looking to get my own team and be the face of a franchise Boston would be a great destination (a very good young pass first PG in Rondo and lots of FA money to spend in the near future).

BiggysmallsParticipant^this
Why not take on the "super teams" and upset the established order. Be an agent of Chaos! oh I just got chills (gotta love the Joker)
Its not a matter of being selfish and wanting PT or more shots, but being able to potentially be part of something that is continually overlooked and in the end, special and memorable. If not, then you can at least rest on the ideal that you stood for something greater than the status quo and the easy way out. Wow I’m getting philosophical.

NbanflguyParticipant^^ exactly. It is way more fun to go for the upset and be a cinderella story.
Me, Scottoant93, and Biggysmalls will take on the giants of the nba!

BlazermannParticipantBlazers of course and I would be the center Greg failed to be

NbanflguyParticipantI like the blazers, but you know if you sign with the Blazers you are pretty much kissing your knees goodbye. I would not be surprised if you tore your acl walking into the building. haha

PlatypusParticipantIt all depends on what my position and skills are for example
Point guard who plays off the ball and can defend
1 Lakers, 1 year deal to get experience next to Kobe
2 Miami, just a great fit
True Point guard
1 Pacers, Collison isnt that good, and they have a good future if hibbert comes back
2 Knicks, this would be a 1 yr deal
Shooting guard who can shoot and defend
1 Chicago, obvious
2 LAC, obvious
Shooting guard who can slash and create
1 Detroit, Knight is not a true point
2 Dallas, Roddy Buckets isnt a true point and D-will isnt bad playing off the ball
Small forward who can defend an shoot
1 Lakers, replace Metta World Peace
2 Detroit, replace Tayshaun Prince
Small forward who can slash and create
1 Houston, there biggest weakness is the small forward
2 New Jersey, D-Will is gone but brooks and lopez are still there
Power forward who’s a post player and good defender
1 Philly, Brand has 2 years left
2 Denver, decent future and not a true power forward
Power forward who’s athletic and and a decent defender
1 Wherever D12 goes (im thinking Dallas)
2 Indiana, to play next to hibbert, West has 2 years left and Psycho T isnt the answer
Center who is offense first and defense average
1 OKC, they need scoring up front bad
2 Minnesotta, Rubio would make me sick
Center who is defense first and average offense
1 Miami, they need this player bad
2 Detroit, right next to Greg Monroe

db24kb24Participant- Lakers
- Lakers
- Lakers
- Heat
- Lakers all day!
I’ve seen Lakers listed a lot on the "worst five" list, but here is my reasoning.
Everybody (the majority) thinks it’s so fun to be the underdog and triumph to beat the perinnial superstars or the juggernuats, yeah, I guess that would be cool. But think about it like this, If you are a Laker, Patriot, Yankee, or Heat player generally the world/fans hate you. You get the best out of your opponents every night, so you always hafta be ready and bring it. If these teams are swept in a series, or for the smaller franchises, if they steal a game from them, they’ve accomplished something that season. Additionally, the amount of h8 will drive you. You play infront of sold out crowds everynight infront of people who dont even care about basketball they just know your supposed to be the sh!t and they wanna see you lose. And your not looking for anybodys approval (LBJ), your just playing to strike fear, gain respect, and to create more hate (KB24/Wade).
Tell me you wouldn’t want to be a powerhouse…You actually have more to lose from the loss than from winning, your held accountable everynight.
