    Detroit Pistons

Now that Josh Smith got his 56 Million and is looking to start at SF. With the two young studs Monroe and Drummond. The Pistons need to make the last move making them a playoff team.

Rajan Rondo and Courtney Lee ( Clearing cap space )

    for

Brandon Knight, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Charlie Villanueva ( Salary / Last year of deal )

The trade to me is right up the C’s alley. Clears cap space with Lee and you get two more young players to build around within the next few years.

For the Pistons a core 4 of Rondo, Smith, Monroe and Drummond looks great. As the two young bigs grow into all stars or superstars ( Drummond ) this team can go from a playoff team into a title shot.

As a Celtics fan, I don’t like that trade. The C’s would be better off seeing what they could do with Rondo than knee jerk trading him for a couple of mediocre young players.

Also, the Pistons would be the worst shooting team in a decade with that deal, as they already don’t look like a good shooting team and that trade would give up perhaps their three best shooters, now that Calderon has left.

I think that Pistons will be a contender in years to come no matter what. I love this type of teams like Pistons, teams that are build trough a draft. It’s nice to watch them grow. Pistons would be a nice fit for Rondo, with him they would go to playoffs no doubt

    Rondo, Smith, Monroe, and Drummond?

Who the hell is going to make a jumpshot? You trade away Knight and KCP, who are much needed shooters for this team…
Smith has a decent shot but is inconsistent and a rather poor 3 PT shooter.

completely agree. very worried that pistons are thinking josh smith is a SF. although i’m a josh smith fan, i’m not sure i like his fit with this team as currently constructed. however, having said that, he’s now a piston. i do believe, however, that rondo is an upgrade over knight. it sounds like the celtics aren’t trying to move him, but i think if they offered stuckey/villanueva and monroe, they could get be better accommodate smith’s abilities. still, a rough shooting team though.

      C-Drummond
      PF-Smith
      SF-KCP
      SG-Knight
      PG-Rondo

Pretty sure Dumars has staked his career on Knight. It’s definitely a make or break year for Knight. If he can’t up his stats and make the offense flow better; he’ll be considered a bust, the pistons will miss the playoffs, and Dumars will lose his job. That said, the Pistons would do that deal in a heartbeat… Even if his J is lacking, Rondo is a top tier PG. On the other side, Knight is a potential bust, while KCP is an unproven rookie (whose ceiling is like Rip Hamilton) and vilanueva’s only value is as an expiring contract….Also, Its really surprising that the Celtic fan got negged for saying the same thing and the poster above him

Let me start by being tranquil. that would be a supreme golden gift to the pistons with no profit for the celtics. Celtics can move forward with brandon knight? naw, the celtics would be trash with him replacing rondo. Throwing aside what pope did in the summer league today i still think he can develop into a nice player, but knight and pope dont equal half of rondo and lee. Its become evident to me this whole summer the media gasing up the trade rondo rumor. Now you guys buying into it. Regardless of his personality, he is an elite player and top 10 playoff performer. Why send him to another team, just so his new team can dominate you year after year while you(meaning the celtics organization with a legacy of winning pride) shake your head in dissapointment watching what you got back for him? Better keep him and his pros and cons.

Courtney Lee is the town bicycle. You have to be a special kind of useless and useful at the same time to be traded/mentioned in trade rumors as a throw in as many times as that dude. I’m pretty sure the Celtics have already made several trades involving him.
