As a Kings fan, I was pretty excited when they drafted him in 2011. Even though I knew he would be nowhere near the player he was at BYU, I thought my Kings at least found their new PG. However they did find their’s in that draft, the guy drafted literally 50 spots behind him. As he had several chances and had some decent games, he wouldn’t fit in  at Sacramento. His lack of athleticism is what really narrowed down his talent at the NBA level, making it much easier for him to turn the ball over along with his lack of defense which he wasn’t even very good at BYU with his defense to start off with. I’m glad to see Isaiah Thomas is really making it big in the league as he averages 20 ppg and 8 assists but they were very lucky to still have a player who ended up being worthy of that #10 pick they wasted. Although I still liked Jimmer even though they threw away the opportunity to have Kawhi Leonard or Klay Thompson, I’m glad to see Jimmer gone in a good way. Now he is off to a fresh start with his career and hopefully he can find himself a spot in the league with another team.

The one team who should sign him more than any other franchise would be the Utah Jazz. Why? Jimmer played at BYU, just hours away from Salt Lake. Jimmer was beyond famous around the area, to a point that he had to take online classes his final semester of college due to the fact that he couldn’t go anywhere in public without completely getting followed. First of all, I find Jimmer being an upgrade over Diante Garrett. Second of all, the franchise would actually make money that way by signing him. Way more fans would attend home games that way and practically BYU’s fanbase would potentially take over the Jazz’s fanbase. If another team does not claim Jimmer off the waivers before Utah, they should immediatley offer him a deal and it would be foolish to not do over the amount of money they would make.

Would he ever play for the Jazz? Dude really just isn’t that good of a player.Maybe some spare minutes here and there? btw Hawayard, Burkes and Marvin Williams there isn’t a ton of room on the wings (besides when Marvin goes stretch 4).

China or maybe Lebanon might work for him though.

I think Denver would be a good fit for him.  They need shooters.  I may be a minority but I think he would be an upgrade over Foye in some ways.  Rotate Lawson, Robinson and Jimmer would give teams a lot of different looks.

would be a good idea for him to go to Denver as well. Also, i’m sure Brian Shaw is trying to bring in some different faces with his rant he had the other night with their big loss

Since the 76ers are in a rebuilding process, just about everybody has been getting playing time there. They do have MCW, Wroten (Who’s been playing more SG), Maynor and Lorenzo Brown but I could still see them giving him minutes. He would probably average more points in Philly then anywhere else so that wouldn’t be a bad spot for him either.

I think he could get big minutes in philly.  Not to mention he compliments MCW and Wroten very well.  They could get away playing those 3 for long periods of time due to MCW and TW’s size.

i agree with those that said sixers and nuggs.

with the sixers, he’d be a good 2g to paly with mcw and wroten (tall, penetrate and kick guys).  with the nuggs, he can just get playing time as a combo guard and help spread the floor with his shooting ability.

i think in jimmer’s case, he’d rather go somewhere where he can play than piggybacking on a play-off team.

They’ve been starting Will Bynum in the backcourt anyways with Jennings at least Jimmer would give them 1 shooter

The Heat could use him. Imagine him streching the floor with Ray Allen. He just cant play long minutes if he’s not on fire, too many other deficiencies. But you put him in for a few minutes each half and see if he heats up.

Dion waiters is going to be out for at least another week and Cj Miles is out. Right now Jarrett Jack and Kyrie are starting with Matt Dellavedova and Alonso Gee getting the backup minutes.

They really lack shooters and were looking before the injuries hit and now are desperate.

Just kidding… Um… I think he should go to a team with leadership like the Spurs. He couldn’t really crack the line up for the Kings but his shooting percentages look promising.. I just bought league pass so I’m going to go watch some of his old games and see why exactly he couldn’t produce for them… I don’t think he should go to another bottom feeder team because it didn’t work with the Kings…

Now that the Knicks just lost Beno and if Raymond Felton gets sentenced, they actually could become a candidate. The only PG’s they would have left would be Prigioni and Toure Murray. The fact that Jimmer is from New York could also increase their fanbase, nowhere near as much as the Jazz but the fact that he was like "Tim Tebow" in college could possibly give fans more interest of that team no matter where he goes. He would be a great shooter to come off the bench for NY and I wouldn’t think it would be a bad place for him at all.

I honestly thought he’d be a Mark Price type. I could see the issues in New York right now as a good opportunity for him to get his chance. Just hope his confidence isn’t diminished too much by now.

Jimmer hasn’t been terrible in his last two seasons, he’s been shooting well and he’s been a good offensive player. He’s been turning the ball over a bit too much this year, but other than that he’s been okay to good on offense. The problem is, he can’t really guard a chair. Opposing point guards posted an outstanding 18.9 PER when he guarded them and considering we’re talking mostly about bench players that tells you lot. Both McLemore and Thornton, two really bad defenders, were upgrade over him. And in a team with a lot of weak defenders and a center who hasn’t been interested in playing defense until this year and who remains a bad defender even when he cares it’s pretty hard to give him decent playing time.

I still think he can be useful on a team that could hide him somehow on defense and in the very worst case scenario he can still shoot the ball really well, so he can be useful for 10-15 minutes a game for a lot of team and make a career as a bench specialist. Anyways I’m pretty sure Utah will try to sign him now, they have no Nba players in the backcourt except for Burke and Hayward and they are also one of the worst shooting teams in the league and everybody still loves him in Utah. The Lakers could use any alive human being with two legs and two arms. The Cavs and Charlotte definitely need someone able to hit jumpers.  Just the first teams that came to my mind, but there are some others, I think he will find a new home before the end of the season.

I say New York if they loose Felton, Denver since nate, miller, and hamilton are gone, then Utah or bobcats.

Personally, i would like him to sign with either Minny or Chicago. i think he can maybe carve out a shooters role in chicago the way Marco Bellineli did last season. i know the bulls signed dunleavy to take that role but with the trade that sent out deng and now butler’s injury, dunleavy is forced to start. they could still use a bench scorer/shooter since theyre left with a short rotation now and only dj augustine able to play from the perimeter off the bench. the fact that they run a very good defensive system that doesnt totally depend on stand out defenders

with minny, id like to see jimmer play in Rick Adelman’s system that shares the ball around among the players and doesnt relly heavily on dribble penetration. i might even say that Jimmer can potentially be better for adelman’s offensive system than rubio. its not like barea’s lack of a defensive presence is hindering him from getting playing time. i believe ferdette could get a real shot in a system that fits him with the timberwolves. the only question would be if he can get minutes over Barea and Shved.
