Kyrie Irving is simply amazing! I hear all the nonsense that he is overrated, that he is selfish. That is trash. This 22 year old kid is special. We have to embrace him for who he is. He is not Jason Kidd, Chris Paul or John Stockton, or even John Wall. He is unique blend of Isaiah Thomas and Iverson. No, he is not as fast as either, but he has their confidence, ball-handling, clutch factor, killer instinct and creativity. And just like them, when he is on his game he is cannot be stopped.

Give this young man credit, his defense was HORRIBLE his first three years. But have you seen him this year, he is much improved. He did a great job defensively against Tony Parker, Kyle Lowry, and John Wall just to mention a few. This year he has shown that he is willing, and can play defense. His offensive game speaks for itself, 49%fg, 82%ft, and 42%3pt. Sure I would love to see his assist numbers climbs, but that is not indicative of him not passing the ball, and to compound that, he and Lebron share pg duties, and they should because Lebron is by far the better passer. Irving is learning how to become a winner and that is his next step in his growth.

The sky is the limit for this kid, 2time All-Start, All-Star MVP, Fiba MVP, Rookie of the Year, Three-Point Shootout Champion, oh yeah, did I mention he is just 22?!!!

He is definitely worth the price of admission. Basketball should be entertaining and he does a great job of putting on a show. Michael Jordan is arguably the greatest player ever, but people forget that his was his flare for the dramatic, his aerial displays, and creativity that made him an attraction, sure he won, but he won in style.

he’s starting to shed that reputation for being just a scorer…and with the addition of lebron and love ,not having to carry so much of the offensive load he’s been able to focus more on the defensive end…playing with lebron and love has helped to make his catch shoot percentages skyrocket….

Kyrie’s usage rate is 22.7, while LeBron’s is 30 (tied for 4th in the league), it’s obvious that LeBron is the team’s playmaker at this point and the fact that Irving’s assists are down aren’t his fault. His assist to TO ratio is actually better than LeBron’s, so though he doesn’t pass as much, when he does – it’s usually an accurate pass that leads to a basket.

If Kyrie stays on this Cavs team with LeBron he could have several 50-40-90 (he is damn close to that right now) seasons – something we haven’t seen in a while.

I said it in this thread… Kyrie Irving is a stud… No, that doesn’t mean he has no holes in his game, but give him time. He’s improving. No way he’s done getting better yet.

He can make slashing layups. As lebron ages he will probably wind up going more into the post and playing down low, and becoming more of a spot up shooter. But if you look around him other player’s percentages are going down…  LeBron is starting too far away from the basket (something I said over the summer was an issue).   He went from 56% down to 47%…  He’s taking bad shots and literally starting from behind the 3pt line on most of his shots…  Kyrie is shooting a career high 47%, but which one would you rather have?  LeBron’s 56% or Kyrie’s 47%?  

It maybe coaching, but then I look at Kevin Love and it’s the same thing…  Kyrie has improved, but at what cost?  The Cavs should have the same plays as the Heat did last year, going through LeBron in the post..  Kyrie is playing great, but they’re still not dominating games like they should.  Even lost to the Jazz.  He had 37 points last night, but only 2 assists…  He’s a PG…  Had the ball in his hands so much and only had 2 assists?

 Man I absolutely hated it during the Knicks game when Mike Breen wouldn’t stop mentioning that Kyrie "STILL HAS NO ASSISTS." He plays off the ball a lot, and if you think about it, he is making that much a sacrifice as Wase did when Lebron came to Miami. He is he only one trying on defense fighting through screens and everything but gets no credit for it. Lebron meanwhile shows absolutely no heart and effort on D and the media will make it seem that his team is at fault and not him. I’m sick of the media sucking up to Lebron.

I can’t lieve how many haters Kyrie has gaied through 2 years but it is totally unmerrited. His game is too fun to watch and that’s one underrated thing if you want from your franchise player. If your franchise player is fun to watch, he will put people on those seats in the arena.

 He’s got franchise player written all over him honestly because no only is he young and extremely skilled but he coducts himself off the court so well. I’d say he is one of the more well-educated men in the NBA based from his interviews and the way he answers them. Very well-spoken and charismatic.
