saladdaysParticipantJust saw these highlights and I was wondering why Jimmer hasn’t been able to stay on a team for very long. He shoots well and seems to have a good feel for the game. Even if he isn’t the most athletic player, couldn’t he at least be signed as a spot-up shooter? I might be missing something though

Robb_CParticipantHe’s delusional, He thinks teams are misusing him as a player and expects to be treated like the guy he was at BYU and everything will fix itself.. That being said hes having trouble playing off the ball and still has this idea that he can be the "guy" hes also a huge defensive liability.

King CaluchaParticipantWell, I don’t know the guy so I can’t talk about his work ethic. Some articles mentioned that he was doing all the drills that the Spurs asked him to do, but it seems he just doesn’t do anything well besides shooting. Effort on defense might not be enough…

Andrew1984ParticipantIt seems he does not respond particularly well to adversity.

GBeeParticipantNot only can he not defend but he can’t dribble either. I rem when the Kings actually gave him a shot at running the point and he struggled to even get them into their offense. He also isn’t much of a playmaker in terms of passing and his BBall IQ was overrated coming out of college (was only good for hunting his own shot). Combine all that with his below average athleticism and what you get is a guy who doesn’t even deserve spot minutes at the point. Essentially he’s a 6’2 SG who can’t take SGs off the dribble. If Ben Gordon, who does what Jimmer can do better at the same size with similar weaknesses, even in his current state, isn’t worth a roster spot; then Jimmer probably isn’t worth one either. All Jimmer has over BG is age.
IK the Pels picked him up, but you know they’ll eventually dump him too as they get healthier. He’s chasing his dream turning down more lucrative offers overseas, but if he wants to maximize his career earnings he’ll swallow his pride and go to Europe where I think he’d be an above average player and starter, even in the good leagues.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantIf jimmer wants to stick in the NBA he should emulate his game off of Eddie house. Eddie had similar size and athleticsm, wasn’t a true pg, and was kind of a defensive liability. Eddie stuck around the league for a decade because he knew his role perfectly as a lights out shooter off the bench. He knew exactly what he was and what he could do and what he shouldn’t try to do on the court. Jimmer seems to want to be a featured guy offensively like in college, but he can’t have sustained success in that role in the NBA. He is not steph curry or even jj redick.

King CaluchaParticipantNot a good comparison, but sometimes I just don’t feel comfortable doing certain things on the court. When I was very young I wasn’t a solid ball handler, so I hated bringing the ball up court.
Whenever you’re good at something, your confidence gets a boost and you usually enjoy that activity. Maybe Jimmer has lost confidence in his playmaking and defending skills (not that he was ever good at those). He must have felt overwhelmed by the athleticism of the other players. Some people thrive under pressure… clearly Jimmer doesn’t.

TarHeelRavenParticipantRobb C hit the nail on the head. I just read an article recently stating Jimmer thinks he should have the green light just like he did in college and the offense should revolve around him which is stunning to hear. The guy just doesn’t get it. It’s very sad. JJ Redick had the same green light at Duke and it took him a couple years to adjust to beigna role guy and he’s turned into a very solid NBA guy. Jimmer has no business in the league with his crap attitude and mindset.

ExumInfernoParticipantThe same thing happened to Steve Kerr, the player.
Could shoot, bounced around a few teams. Never found a spot that fit, until he was put beside Jordan and Pippen, and latter Duncan.
Jimmer can shoot, but maybe he needs to find the better spot like Kerr. Not sure where that is. It is surprising that the Spurs couldn’t find a way to use Jimmer.

EspressoParticipantI always wanted the Heat to give him a chance when LebRondowitzki was here and we couldnt make a 3 to save our lifes. Watching Fredette in college was like watching Steph Curry this year…
Jimmer Range Baby!!!!
Im not gonna lie, the last time I saw Jimmer play was with the kings as a PG… I saw him spot up like… never. He should most definitely model his game after Eddie House, nice one.
