steviechillzParticipantI love this guys potential…to me he can be a great scorere in the nba…maybe a faster Paul Pierce??? Hamilton has just about every shot in the book and hes got a BIG bag of tricks….but on the other hand he is sometimes inconsistent….i think his best NBA potential would be Paul Pierce and what hes probably gonna end up being is a JR smith type player……What do you guys think?

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantI think Pierce is where he should want to go with his game, but we’ve all got to be realistic and hope for a solid career as a role playing scorer, Pierce had an overall game coming out, he could already beat defenders off the dribble and owned the mid range area…but what people forget is that Pierce was a big time scorer and league leader in steals, much like AI, Wade, Kobe, Jordan…he always wanted the ball and strives to make plays all over the court, Hamilton wants to score and that’s about it…he has to be an all around player to really get a Shot at attempting to fill Paul’s shoes

ilike.panochasParticipantI see a little bit of Glen Rice in him. He already has legit NBA 3pt range, good strong body (6’7 220lbs), and he is an above average athlete. He may not be as prolific a scorer as Rice was, but his game resembles him.

OhCanada-ParticipantDont underrate Paul Pierce, alot of people are going to hate me for saying this but The Truth is one of the great players in our game. Hamiltons combination of athletisism, strength and scoring touch will make him a very valueable and sought after prospect, but not Paul Perce 2.0. Maybe Paul Pierce 0.5.

SwatLakeCityParticipantIs he more a 3 or a 2. I’m thinking that he might be good for the Jazz to go for to fill in that BIG hole at the 2 guard. If he fully lives up to his potential he could become the 2nd option that the Jazz desperately need. Or maybe even tie Dwill for 1st option, highly doubt it though. But I would love to see the Jazz get a legitimate 2nd option or a player that could develop into that. I would prefer that 2nd option be a 2 guard because every other position is filled except for the 2. (Raja Bell should be on the bench in my opinion) Could Hamilton play the 2 or is he more of a 3. I’m loving these comparisons but I really would like to know what position you view him playing in the NBA.

ilike.panochasParticipantHe’s a Small Forward to me, I don’t think he has the footspeed to defend NBA SGs, he’s a natural SF. Atworst he could be Martell Webster.

I agree. He definitely has the offensive skills to play SG at the next level, but his defensive shortcomings might push him to the 3, where he isn’t quite as dangerous a mismatch.

BKKnicksfanParticipantUnless Utah missed the playoffs, I don’t see Hamilton dropping into the 20’s. He’s similar to Jordan Crawford of last year, instant O

Hopefully he will live up to that lofty prediction

Raef LaFrentzParticipantA while back I remember saying that he reminds me of Danny Granger. Here’s the forum thread.

4th dimensionHes nothing like Granger, specially on defense. Granger is a versatile defender, able to defend from SGs-PFs.
