i was just asking myself what mike beasley is going to be because right now i see him ending up more like al harrington with all the problems he has…
i think their game is very similar and they are both amazing talents but if beasley doesn´t get his head right he might end up being the nex harrington.

that doesn´t mean he can´t turn it around and be a great player but he has to do much with his head..
    what do you think?

Thats an accurate comparison to me…I think that’s exactly the type of career he’ll have I think.

I think Beasley in terms of natual ability is beyond Harrington. I see his career more like Glenn Robinson than Harington’s. HArrington, coming straight from high school took a while to figure out how to use his skills. Beasley has a much better idea on how to be productive at this level, he just needs to get his head straight. He could average 20 pts and 8 rebounds for his career, but he could also flame out. Its sad because he’s got the talent for 20-8 right now.

yeah hes beyond harrington..harrington didnt have the jumper mike has when he got to the leauge. as mkadoza said it took harrington a lil while to hone his skills. he has the talent to be 20 and beyond if he gets his self together. could easily be along the lines of glenn robinson

Yall are thinking too much right now I believe…I think he means how Harrington plays recently and not how long it took him him to figure out his skills and whatnot…Harrington has been a 20 8 guy as well anyway I believe or very close.

i thought so too untill i reread which was beasley will end up being like harrington..and become the next harrington. personally i think a more acurate player is glen robinson as far as what he could end up being like if he doesnt get it together because he has far more potenial, even if he doesnt get it fully together, to be better then harrington

the nba wants him 2 be a pf but lf he can get his handles better he can be an swingman has more than enuff size and speed 2 play sf and he can come in as an pf 2 cuase mismatches which he already does need to learn how take people of the dribble better

i think some of you are writing beasly off too soon. the kid was just a rookie last season and is almost too talented offensivly to not contribute on the court. the thing that could get in his way is his head, which seems to be all over the place but i still think he has a chance to put it together and be a good player. he could also fizzle out and be nothing special. its just too soon to tell but at least give him a chance

First of all comparing Beasley to Harrington is not writing him off….watching Harrington play this year for the Knicks, i was very impressed with his game and attitude…Hes a good talent in the NBA, and in my opinion could be a very good number 2 option on a good team….Second of all facts are facts and Beasley is undersized, more so than any of us realized and lacks the quickness to be a defender at this level….I never expected much of Beasley but could see him performing in that range

i wouldnt say its writing him off but his talent is greater then harringtons. undersized means nothing in the nba ..chuck hayes plays center sometimes and plays it well..if you are good size doesnt really matter he can be a average to good defender in the nba..you dont have to be the quickest to be a good defender you just need to know to beat a player to a certain spot..iverson has very quick feet yet hes a below average defender and nash is even worst

I think the worst scenario has happened to him so far… Being compared to Derrick Coleman…. Don’t get me wrong… DC had a solid career and was pretty much a reliable scorer… I just thought Beasley could have been more than that comparison but so far, as what I see, he is a Derrick Coleman of the modern era…

Comparing Mike Beasly to Al Harrington is like comparing apples to airplane hangars: it doesn’t make sense. Their games aren’t similar at all. He’s better around the bucket, a better rebounder and has better basketball instincts. I think his face-up mid range game is better as well. Harrington shoots the deep ball better and maybe has a better handle. Beasly might match the big dog in terms of #’s, but Robinson shoulda done more and their games aren’t alike either. Melo plays more like Robinson. Think a lot of ya’ll are writing Beasly off too soon. In terms of natural talent he’s the best of his draft class.

He plays just like Melo notice Baltimore players have that same style of play? Heavy set forwards with guard skills. Beasley is nasty and he will be a top nba talent he is the next generation of players.

i hate to say it but i see a zach randolph type future, uncanny abilitly to score in the post and rebound but poor attitude.

No your not because Beasley is just stuck in a roll he has to get used to he needs the ball in his hands more honestly Wade is a dominant ball handler on that team.

first of all im not writing off beasley i just think their games are comparable… what i wanted to say was that harrington came in the league and was very talented especially on offense but he is underachieving so far because he doens´t get his head straight.. and i just thpugt maybe beasley could become just like that…

i would never doubt beasleys great potential and he may be one of the most talented guy´s in his class but we all now talent isn´t everthing and i hope beasley will realize that. by the way think of eddy curry he got loads of talent….

i compare there games because robinson was a very deadly mid range shooter that also could get buckets around the basket and hit the 3. thats pretty much what beasley does if im not mistaken. as a matter of fact thats who people back home (dc area) used to call beasley back when he was in highschool (lil big dog)
