What will it take for a good coach to be interested in the Timberwolves job?  The first or second pick? If i have to watch another point guard get a running start at the defense off pick and roll the remote is going through the TV. I’m willing to watch archaic offense from thibadeau for a top ten defense. Mitchell had done a nice job developing this tayshaun prince guy and that’s about it.

KAT. The opportunity to coach someone who as a rookie is already a top 5 C, and is having a close to all time best rookie season is enticing enough. Smitch is a dead man walking, as the players have already given up on him, and he just flat out sucks with his rotations (lol at the Tyus/Martin/Bazz/Payne/Dieng lineup he ran for like 5 min….cringeworthy) and his lack of accountability. Im willing to bet either Blatt or  Thibodeau would have to take a look at this team

11 Double Doubles in a row now and at least one block in every one.  And Only a Rookie. He will change the look of the team. Coachs will def want to coach him. The sky is the limit for this guy. He is impressive to say the least.

Wiggins will be the interesting one to see what a different coach can get out of him.

The Wolves will be an attractive job this coming offseason. Brian Whindhorst just reported that last week that the MN job might be more coveted than the Knicks job.

You’ve got two potential superstars, a likely top-6 pick, good young talent around them, cap space and low expectations.

Its not the best job in the league, but there’s a heck of a lot more potential with the Wolves job than probably 23-24 other NBA jobs because a lot of NBA teams are close to or at their ceiling already.

I can see Mark Jackson getting this team to respectability, and then get canned when they are fully developed. Then the coach they always wanted will come in and take over from there LOL, really though!

If it gets Mark Jackson out of the ESPN booth, I guess  that would be the silver lining.

Otherwise no thanks. Don’t think he’d want the job and don’t really know if he’d be that good anyways. Hes too dependant on isolation and pick n roll basketball. That’s all…don’t really want that kind of coach.

Granted, Thibs offense is pretty terrible too, but his defenses are always incredible.

My dream senario for the Wolves is they throw all the resources they can including stock options in Target to get Shaka Smart, I’d love to see him coach these young guys with his enthusiasm at the pro level. Don’t know if it’d work but would be fun to watch.
