Tim49461ParticipantSo notes of what i have found during the Summer league so far…Feel free to add anything
First off i have to get this out of the way.
Tyler Hansbrough is still doing it against (semi) NBA players. I thought to he would struggle but the kid is scoring and rebounding.
James Harden has been nothing short of solid. Scoring on all levels and rebounding and passing. Impressive so far. Thunder will have AMAZING core group to for the future that should not be tampered with.
Russel Westbrook is toying with everyone that he plays against. What more can you say he is a Future all-star in the making playing against scrubs
B.J Mullens…not certain but we all agree is not ready for atleast a year or two? Just looks lost at times and for a athletic 7ft he should be able to grab more boards.
CDR is showing he can be a nice back up at this stage of his career. Still can’t shoot a 3 to save his life but i see him as a young less athletic version of Trevor Ariza ( before this year)
Terrance Williams does anyone know where he is? can’t score over 10 points in a Summer League game? Barely grabbing boards, and he is suppose to start. Nets better hope he is saving something for the season.
Eric Maynor is Solid but nothing special, and i think that is all he is trying to do right now. He knows he is a back up so why would he do more. He is doing actually what he needs to do and show he can run a team successfully.
Ryan Anderson second coming of Hedo? only second year in the league but boy can he shoot and put it on the floor. Also willing to rebound which gives him so much more value then Hedo.
Feel free to expand or add anything.

Bison 49ParticipantWe should revisit this question after summer league. The first game of summer league is like the first time you jump into the deep-end of the pool. Some guys (rookies) have the skills and are ready, but they have yet to experience the NBA style/level of play. Hansbrough, and Harden are probably showing what they have for the NBA, but others might be experiencing some shock (T-Will and Mullens), or are going slow and steady (Maynor). Like you said, it is probably good for a guy like Maynor to show that he is dependable, so he might be keeping this in mind and let his game slowly emerge over the next few games.
The second year players, some of these guys were borderline strong NBA players last year (Westbrook, and Anderson). Westbrook should be dominating. The big question for him is how he handles the good pgs of the west in real games (Paul, Nash, Williams, Parker, etc.).

bluedevils12ParticipantAfter seeing the 1st few games i KNOW hansbrough and harden are NBA ready. Hanbrough jus continues to play well. And i really like Hardens game he is jus so smooth and makes things look effortless. I honestly dont know wat is up with Jrue holiday. I mean im guessing thats why he slipped in the draft becuz he is pretty much looked like a 2nd round pick or a d league prospect so far. its a shame becuz he’s pretty talented. Mareese Speights has been a man among boys i feel. i saw him play in spurts last season and he looked pretty good but i think this season may be his coming out party. and last idk if many have been watching but josh mcroberts has looked pretty dam solid. i mean he’s had a few highlight reel dunks and some of the assist he’s dished out have been sick

bluedevils12Participant1 more thing russell westbrook should jus stop playing in the summer league. haha. its not fair the way he is doing players out there. I think his confidence factor is the main thing that has him playing like this. Other guys are scared to guard russell and his crossover has become lethal. he really has improved that mid range jumper also

Meditated StatesParticipantI am surprised he does not get more minutes. He is a real good run and jump athelete who passes well. He just has no post game. Good to here Westbrook’s jumper is improving it was a weakness he needed to work on. If he starts hitting that he will be one of the toughest points to guard.
