knicksfreakParticipantKirk Hinrich. He is a tenacious defender, good shooter and distributor. I even dare to say that he could have a Nash-like coming out party playing for D’Antoni. He has alot of similar skills to Nash but is a much better defender. I’m not saying that he would make the Knicks a legit champ contender right away but he would definitely make them a more complete team and a playoff lock.
Ok bring on the negatives

sheltwon3Participanthow would yall get him. he is not a bad fit but that is like me saying the Knicks need Kobe Bryant. His contract has some years on it at like 8 or 9 per and Chi town aint giving him up for Curry or Jeffries. Also Knicks are not going to lose cap space to deal Harrington for Hinrich.

knicksfreakParticipantI’m playing around with trade machine and it could be done in a few ways.
Knicks favored:
Curry+Hillfor
Hinrich+Thomas
Chicago may do this because Curry is a very good low post scorer who would fit well in a frontcourt with Noah. They also get a good young player in Hill.
Chicago favored:
Harringtonfor
Hinrich
Best Deal I can come up with:
Harrington + Jeffriesfor
Hinrich + Thomas
The Bulls get a great scoring forward and a versatile defender and still make out with 3 million more in cap space than they would have.
The Knicks only lose around 3 million in cap space for this year which would still allow them to pursue a superstar in free agency. They would also lock up a very solid pg for a few years along with Thomas who would help defensively on the block and may fare well in D’Antoni faster paced offense.

TyroberParticipantbulls wont take back jefferies or curry. they want to be players in the free agency too. if they can get rid of hinrich or salmons itll be for ending contracts

cargathusParticipantBulls already gave up curry once :P. I doubt they want him back…now that he gained even more weight

The8thDeadlySinParticipantI suggested this about a month ago and someone was super super against it. I dont remember who it was but he fought me about it for like 30 post. Personally, I think the Knicks need a new coach if they want to win a championship.

goneParticipantHinrich is nowhere near Nash skills he’s more of a combo guard than a traditional passing point guard. the knicks need to go after devin harris cause I heard he was being shopped
Duhon-6mil
Chandler- 1milfor
Harris-8mil
yea they not gettin a expiring contract but harris is a allstar point they need to run their show

gatorheelsParticipantAs a Bulls fan I say: the Knicks can have Hinrich for FREE. Just take his ludicrous contract & garbage play this season.
LMAO

quinceyhodgesi doubt the nets would trade to get wilson since they have t.will and cdr. they want to see those guys grow first im sure. and yeah chi will not take back curry. gotta face the fact that ya’ll are stuck with curry till at least next season
0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/22/2010 - 9:14am #249613

JNixonParticipantIf you remember his Dallas days, Steve Nash was very similar to Hinrich (when Hinrich is playing his best). Alot of people thought of Nash as a combo guard back then..Hinrich is also a combo guard (even though he’s most effective as a PG). I think that Hinrich has shown in the past that he’s definitely capable of being a starting PG and playing at a near All-Star level. I could see him playing close to the level Nash enjoyed for Pheonix. The system benefits him pretty well, and it doesn’t hurt that he can defend..

gatorheelsParticipant"I could see him playing close to the level Nash enjoyed for Pheonix."
lmao
Hinrich is pure garbage now. He should never ever ever be mentioned in the same sentence as Steve Nash.
I honestly don’t see how any team in the whole league would want to trade for Kirk Hinrich. Overpaid & he shoots bricks.

Disrespect_MeParticipanteven if they got Hinrich
it wouldnt matterthe Knicks problem is protecting the paint 1/2 the teams in the league have that problem as a matter of fact
0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/22/2010 - 9:31am #249620

JNixonParticipantThe world may never know…I don’t think that man has completely forgot how to play though. I think he’s not playing as good because he’s more effective as a PG, but with Rose there he doesn’t get to show that side of him for more than a few minutes. He’s shown that he can make plays with the ball in his hands before Rose was in Chi-Town

gatorheelsParticipant^ Good Point
0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/22/2010 - 10:12am #249634

sheltwon3ParticipantI dont think Hinrich is pure garbage now but he is not playing his best ball and it could be his role on the Bulls. I think he can be a poor man Nash for New York but the thing is chi would not make a trade that would help Knicks. Knicks could wait and get C J Watson or Will Bynum for part of the mid level exception and they are up and coming and just as skilled as Hinrich to some degree and will be cheaper.

powerguard97ParticipantKnicks dont need a thing…..Lebron will be there in the fall…so ride out with this team for a little bit longer.

Clyde-Glide10I like Kirk but

He’s not a high level starter IMO

0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/22/2010 - 12:42pm #249677

the I in winParticipantWhy would we give a negative? You are right on the money, Kirk would fit great their and probably would but up some crazy numbers. Knicks should go for him.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/22/2010 - 12:47pm #249683
quinceyhodgesi think hed be pretty good. im not wit you on the putting up crazy numbers part though.

powerguard97ParticipantOf course Kirk Hienrich is a poor mans, WAIT A MIN. a very very poors mans Steve Nash…….Quincey Lebron will be in New York next season..i have no doubt about that, next to Detroit i like the Knicks….but can i be honest with my nbadraft.net people………WHERE DID THIS PLAY FROM DAVID LEE COME FROM????
IS HE THE NEXT AUSTIN CROSHERE? WITHOUT GOING TO THE FINALS AND WITH LESS OF A JUMPER? WHAT IS HE????
0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/22/2010 - 1:01pm #249696
quinceyhodgesso if he doesnt come will u be heart broken and thing the season is a wash? there are plenty of other people in nj/miami/and cleveland who are think the same thing about lebron being there
0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/22/2010 - 1:20pm #249703

0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/22/2010 - 2:44pm #249733
goneParticipantGood points but i jus cant see hinrich making his teamates better like nash yea his defense is better but he is jus a average pg
0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/22/2010 - 8:11pm #249879

knicksfreakParticipantI think everyone forgets how good Hinrich was before Rose came to Chicago.
He averaged about 15 points, 6.3 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 1.3 stealsThose are very good numbers for a PG. He also managed to get all those assists with very little help in a stagnant half court offense. Much easier said than done.
This is my description of Hinrich. He has no glaring weaknesses that i see.
Great defender.
Very good shooter.
Good distributor.
Moves well without the ball.
Good size 6’3″Like Iggy said, Hinrich is very similar to Nash in the Dallas years. People were not very high on Nash before he became a MVP under D’Antoni. I just point out that Hinrich has the same skillset + better defense. People are vastly underrating his PG skills. He led Kansas to the National title game along with Nick Collison.

llperezwhat the knicks need is to put hughes in the starting lineup at pg so he can run the show. That would allow them to move Duhon to the sg spot where he can explode as an offensive force. Stop letting Gallo shoot all these threes and get him under the basket posting up where he belongs. Speaking of posting up, Curry needs to be getting 30+ minutes for his defense and rebounding, that would help a lot. Lee needs to take a seat, he’s way to soft to effectively implement D’Antoni’s defensive philosophy. And I can’t belive they are letting Darko’s untapped potential just sit there on the bench like that, big mistake.
Anyways, things have all been downhill since Isiah left and there is no light at the end of the tunnel for the knicks unless they start taking my advice.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/22/2010 - 9:27pm #249885

knicksfreakParticipant^^^^^Is this a joke?^^^^^
I hope so.
Hughes at the point isnt bad but he hasnt been the same since his groin injury.
Duhon explode offensively? any drugs come into playe here?
Make our best shooter Gallinari stop shooting?
Out of shape Eddy Curry who can neither rebound or play D?
Sit Lee? the should-be all-star
Darko’s potential has been lost for 5 years
0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/22/2010 - 9:37pm #249888

marcusfizer21Participantknowing llperez, the dude is poking fun at the knicks….LOL
0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/22/2010 - 9:38pm #249889

llperezand hopefully they land the number 1 pick so they can get a franchise building piece like Cole Aldrich.
yeah, just messin
the knicks have a lot of potential. Duhon has to go and see who they could sign this off season. Hill will develope. I also think they need to keep both nate and Lee if possible. Add in a big name FA this summer, and things are looking up big time NY.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/22/2010 - 9:43pm #249890

marcusfizer21Participantdon’t take llperez seriously on that statement of his… You know very well he’s too educated to say Duhon being an explosive offensive force…LOL
0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/22/2010 - 9:54pm #249892

llperezthanks for giving me some credit fizer. But Duhon does not approve of your comment. I brought up Curry’s defense and rebounding, Darko’s potential, Lee getting benched, but the thing that made you realize it was a joke was my comment about Duhon being an offensive force. Like, you had me going for a minute perez, but that duhon thing was just too far fetched. lol.
