What is the Celtics going to do with Rondo if they go completely in rebuild mode ? I believe the Kings offer of the 8th pick, Ben McClemore and another future first round pick for him was the best, but Rondo wasn’t interesed in resigning with the Kings. Type in Kings trades and Rondo you’ll find a bunch legitimate articles from pretty way back now.

I thought perhaps he would change his mind with resiging with the Kings instead of staying with the Celtics in rebuild mode another year because they can be good with him having pieces there. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case. I know teams like the Pacers, Rockets and Lakers are interested, but I don’t know how they can please him to where he wants to go and get back as much as possible.

My bad, It’s not letting me add on or fix things because of the Filters. I’m using my cell phone.

Celtics and Pistons should make a trade. MOnroe + asset for Rondo.

Thats the tough part. Detroit really only has one assett and thats Monroe. Drummond is untouchable and the rest of the team is filled with unwanted parts.

top of the line assets, but I think there would probably be some amount of interest in Singler and KCP from quite a few teams.  Singler is a solid role player and KCP is still developing.

Yeh Rondo refused to go to the Kings. I could still see Danny Ainge do something to strengthen their roster while keeping Rondo

I’m waiting on trading Rondo until Kevin Love is dealt or the Wolves make the choice not to trade him a second time.  Lets assume no Love, which means trading Rondo has to be an option.  What can we get for him?  I’d take the Kings offer, but if Rondo won’t resign, then they won’t give up that much.  All the other teams that need a PG like the Heat, Pacers, Rockets and Lakers don’t have good young players to trade or won’t give them up for Rondo.

Rajon came back last year and shot terrible… Granted it was coming off the ACL injury, but still worth noting…  That also was the first time he was without KG and PP…  I would think that had something to do with his percentages too…

I think it all depends on where Rondo would want to go…  What team will allow him to win right away and give the Celtics something back… What team is in need of a PG?  The Rockets can give them something decent…  Rondo unlike Love and Melo is looking to go to teams that already have PG’s…  Or doesn’t have enough assests that would be enough for Boston…  I don’t think Boston will get a reasonable deal for him honestly…

Lakers would be an option, but would Rondo WANT to go there for 2 years with Kobe and his massive contract?

Why would Irving want to go to Boston. They are years away from having the talent  the Cavs have on their roster. Boston is not a prime destination and they will be back to their usual lower standing finishes jsut like before they got the big 3. Remember the Celtics were doormats before they got the big 3.

Idk..Game 7 of the finals and took the Heat to 7 games in the ECF.  Other than that I guess nothing.  The Big 3 were solid but not stars those last few years.

When the Celtics went into rebuild and Doc, KD,PP and Jason Terry all moved on, I’m sure that Danny Ainge spoke to Rondo and his representatives about what the rebuild plan was and how Rondo fitted into it. I haven’t heard that Rondo wants out or he is on the trading block so things must have been allowed to progress.

More pressing for both sides is Rondo getting back on court and playing a full season, he has only played 68 games in the last two seasons so his trade value would not be as high as it was. Neither would his FA market value, so it may be that it iws benefical for both sides that Rondo gets back to full fitness and All Star form next season. I feel that if this does happen then trade talk may start if things aren’t working out. We will know who thwe Celtics drafted and how the rebuild is going plus Danny Ainge will know what the chances of retaining Rondo are.

The Celtics would not want to let Rondo to walk away for free and getting Rondo to a team of choice would give him the chance to get a more lucrative exension in 2015. Rondo will be 29 next year so his next contract could be his last really big contract and you’d feel he’d want to get it right. Rondo has been a Celtic all his career and no doubt has great affection for the team and if things were going well would surely look to extend with the Celtics but if the sides were a long way apart on a possible new deal come early next year then a trade could be a mutual option for both sides.
