There’s not many Jazz fans out on the forum… But as you all know. I’m a huge one. So my question is what should the Jazz do in the offseason.

It’s looking like the Jazz won’t make the playoffs they’ll probly get like a 12th pick or something like last year. So, what should they do this offseason particularly in the draft.

I think they should draft a center this draft. Diamond Stone in particular. This site has him falling in the draft. But I think he’s lottery talent. 13.5 ppg 5.5 rpg and 1.6 bpg. He’s a defensive center and that’s what the Jazz like to have. He seems to have a really nice jumper and he’s also a really tough guy. So he’s the guy I’m hoping the Jazz would pick

Next… I’d really go after Ryan Anderson this offseason. He’s a shooter that the Jazz could really use and it’d make sense for them to go after him.

    PG: Exum/Mack/Burke

    SG: Hood/Burks

    SF: Hayward/Ryan Anderson

    PF: Favors/Lyles/Booker

    C: Gobert/Stone/Withey

This is a Jazz lineup that I would like to see. I’d get rid of Neto. And keep one of their second round picks. Maybe pick up a SG in the second round that could play a couple mins here and there.

Anyways, there’s my opinion. What do you guys think they should do?

I would look at a stretch 4 or a back up wing in case Hayward moved on after his current contract.

PG/SG is still a question to. Hood is decent but is he a starter for a championship team? prbly need to upgrade here. Could take a chance on someone.

I know teams want to trade for Hayward.

I think they should just take the best player available. They have a good young player at every position so they need to just continue to gather more talent,

Ryan Anderson is a liability defensively at PF. At SF he would get destroyed by just about any wing in the NBA.

I can tell you addressed this post to me…so here goes.

This franchise lost any idea about a winning culture the day Jerry Sloan left town, and never got it back. Whats left is PG13 rated mediocrity. Management are the leaders in this regard and is reflected in previous draft picks.

The roster is a bunch of happy-go-lucky guys. They’re boys that your mother would love, but aren’t under pressure to win. Get someone who cares more about winning than stats.

I say…Draft Denzel Valentine. Sign Delly.

I’d agree with BPA policy, a lot would depend on who is still on the board, a good player may fall and then suddenly draft plans can change.

If they do end up picking at 12 then they can workout fairly much everyone from about 8th pick down. Guys who are considered likely to go 8-10 range would really have to workout for a team like Utah in case they fell down the draft.

Favors is already the starting PF and back up C, i wouldn’t draft a 3rd string C who can only play C with a lotto pick….

Last year you needed Portis, he was the perfect fit with Gobert and Favors…

This year, i would take the best guard available, overrate them if needed, "the actors" Denzel/Baldwin, you need playmaking and shooting, everybody needs playmaking and shooting to be successful, the lone Exum returning isn’t enough in that regard.

Denzel would lead your 2nd unit alongside burks from day 1, Baldwin could compete for the starting spot in year 2, young sophomore.

Get rid of Burke, keep the chucker mack and the defensive minded neto as depth players, 3rd stringers.

If it’s a bigmen, i would try sabonis personally, impact player from the bench, well suited for your half court game, rebounder, passionate player…

In my mock at the moment i got Dunn for the jazz, he’ll fall, he isn’t a great fit for a lot of teams in the top 10, he’s 22…

i do like the denzel ideal, but i feel that the role most people are pointing out is the same role the team had for alec burks before his injury. best prospect like what they did last year with trey lyles seems to have worked out preety well for them. he forms a good 3 man rotation with favors and gobert at the 4 and 5 slot. then you have your usual suspects in getting a stretch 4, ellenson maybe or even Skal if he drops that far, doubt it though. diamond stone is not a bad idea as the teams 3rd center although i have no qualms with whittey playing that role.

if the jazz were to take a reach pick i think id want to gamble on timothe luwawu of france. i think he would be a very good piece going forward and has a higher ceiling than denzel valentine. like hood and hayward, he has the length to play either wingman position.

what im hoping the jazz do get done in the off-season though is chase and throw as much money needed to sign Mike Conley. i cant think of a better fit for the team right now who happens to be an unrestricted free agent. could be an excellent mentor to dante exum. knows how to play within a structured offense that has deffense as its identity. 28 years old, so in his physical prime, can help the jazz win more games, and when he’s in a decline, exum could handle a heavier load. offers simillar outside shooting as burke, only better. offers simillar deffense to exum only more refined. offers ability as a game manager superior to either.
