Personally i think the grizz should keep him because of his potential and star power but if they need help right now to get deeper in the playoffs then i would trade him. A jason Terry type player and a future first rounder would be good.

I would keep him and give him more minutes, this guy is just way to good to let him sit on the bench.

Otherwise, I would love to see him in Chicago next to derrick rose, that could be a huge backcourt

It all depends on what Memphis wants for Mayo…

Mayo remains underrated. He was hyped goin to USC, and then when drafted people were unsure of his potential to play the 1. Clearly he’s a 2, and at 6’5 (I Think) That’s not bad size at all. I would think that Golden State would love to put him next to Curry. He’d also look good next to Rose in Chicago. Maybe New Orleana makes a play, and he develops into an All-Star Caliber player next to Paul. It comes down to Memphis plans’ though. If they decide to let Gasol walk, (unlikely) then maybe they flip Mayo in a trade for some young C/Bench pieces. It just depends if the Griz have him in the long term plans. He certainly is talented, and I think he’d be a great fit next to an All-Star PG who could really bring out the best in him. They might be friends or whatever, but Conley is not that guy.

Memphis needs to see what the new CBA rules are. but their best case scenario would be to extend a qualifying offer. make mayo a restricted F/A next summer. Keep mayo as 6th man, then trade him at the deadline to a team that will be in the lotto for a pick with as little protection as possible, should be at least a top ten.

Memphis Have Xavier Henry on the roster who was also a highly touted SG, and will be a sophmore next year and should be given a greater opportunity to develop with mayo gone. then draft the best player availiable, knowing that you are locked in at PG, SF,PF and C for the next several years. although a good drafted C might be able to displace gasol

I think memphis will  have something good goin when Rudy Gay returns and with Tony Allen being the defender on the wing, with Sam Young and Xavier Henry coming off the bench thats a nice rotation. I would trade Mayo 4 the best offer whether its pick in next years deep draft or maybe another solid player that would add depth wherever Memphis needs it. I would love to see the Bulls land Mayo though, hes juss wut they need.

Just keep him. He’s our sixth man. He gives credit to our second unit. Extend a qualifying offer next summer and make him a restricted free agent. Then use bird rights to retain him.

    Conley – Allen – Gay – Randolph – Marc

Vasquez – Mayo – Battier – Arthur – Benson (vía draft)

    Smith – Henry – Young – Powe – Haddadi

They very easily could do that, but the essential question in pondering a Mayo trade is if their depth can offset his loss, which it certainly can. Therefore, if they don’t see Mayo as a MAJOR building block for the future, then cashing him out for picks and quality assets would further propel their success, and enhance their ability to compete in the West. They really suprised some people in the playoffs this year, myself included, and decline kicking in among some of the West’s top teams, making the right call could ensure great succcess for the foreseeable future.

No point in giving up on him at this point, he showed in the playoffs he could potentially be a 6th man of the year candidate and brings shooting and energy. He was really trying hard defensively but he still has a lot to learn and gain awareness as he would make a great play then immediately give the ball back or force a bad shot…I still think he has great potential and could be what JR Smith should be…

mm difficult question… If necesary I will trade Sam Young before OJ or Xavier. Mayo is a Jason Terry kind of player and Xavier is a lottery pick maybe with a lot of room. But first we have to see what happens with Shane, who is an unrestricted free agent.

SG: Allen – Mayo – Henry

      SF: Gay – Battier/Young – Henry

Obviously the chances are slim to none that Xavier turns out to be as bad as Adam Morrison smh……

Oh ok gotcha, but my only real thing i was tryna say is they are wing heavy so sum1 will want to go, but i think Mayo could bring the most value becuz he has proved wut he can bring to the table.

If memphis traded mayo, it wouldn’t mean they are giving up on him. At this point Everyone can see how good OJ is and what he does well, and what he can’t do.

Memphis would be Swapping a Current Asset for a future asset.  with Young, Allen and  Henry, memphis has good depth at the SG spot.

Im Sure most memphis fans would be OK with trading mayo if it got them a top 10 pick in next years loaded draft, and a solid roleplayer.  At a position with more need like backup C
