I know everybody has one (at least)…who was that guy that you watched hoop it up in college (or high school) and you would have bet your right leg that he was gonna be an all star NBA player forever, only for that same guy to get in the league and fall of the face of the earth without doing JACK in the NBA. Now dont go looking on websites for “the biggest draft bust” or something just let it come off the top of the dome. For me I got 2…..Walter Berry from St. Johns and JR Reid from UNC (I’m a old head), you couldnt tell me nothing about Berry I thought that cat was the truth, he had the best post moves in NCAA and I just knew when he got to the NBA with no zone D he would be uncheckable down low. JR Reid was just a beast and had crazy quick footwork down low. Berry went straight from St Johns to the NBA witness protection program and about the only thing Reid is known for is how hard he used to foul people (almost decapitated this point guard once). What does the board think?

Mine was JR Smith. He is a solid player, but the way he jumps and shoots, i thought he was going to be special. He has shown flashes with 40 point games(atleast 1). He was supposed to be a mix between Vince Carter and Ray Allen. That never happened. And Andre Igoudala is very good, but im still waiting for him to get over the hump. He is too good not to be an all star almost every year.

I thought Rodney Carney would be a nice NBA player,I wanted Philly to draft him sooo bad. But he was not anything like I thought he would be. I also was fooled by Travis Outlaw. Traded For Rodney Carney On Draft Night, Then Rode The Bench For Over A Year In Chicago. Whenever He Got Off The Bench Though, He Usually Produced Some Good Overall Numbers. Now Thabo Is Starting For The OKC Thunder. He Has Become That Go-To Defender, The Guy The Coach Calls When Someone Needs To Gaurd The Opposing Teams Best Offensive Player. He Rebounds, Blocks Shots, Is An Overly-Willing Passer, And Picks Up A Ton Of Steals On A Nightly Basis. His Offense Is A Work In Progress, But This Guy Can Play. Not Too Shabby For The 1st NBA PLayer To Ever Come Out Of Switzerland.

for one, to the guy that said lenny cooke you can’t be a flop if you never get drafted and never played a game in the NBA two telfair is a quaity NBA point guard who is averaging about 9pts and 5 asst. But a guy i thought would be a better pro then he was is Omar Cook. For one stat wise he is the best guard to play in college in sometime. you may think i am crazy but to average around 16 pt and 9 assist in the bigeast on a bad st.johns team enough said.

jr smith is a good player, just not a good team player…i know it sounds crazy but he reminds of kobe bryant when he was young, if he ever gets his own team he’s going to get 30 points a night….thabo is good, and i really think the spurs should have kept james white, he’s athletic can play defense and can control the ball if needed.but the prospect that fooled me the most was sean may i definitely thought he would be able to bang in the pros.

Yea I agree with you postaboy, J.R in that Joe Johnson stage when he was in Phoenix though. Everybody knew Joe could be good he just needed some freedom. For my flop I got to go with Dajuan Wagner. I thought he was going to be unstoppable, something like a bigger Iverson. But he got hit with them injuries and never bounced back like I thought he would. It seemed like he didn’t care much about getting back on the court.

Yes, It’s True About His Bowel Problems. It’s Some Sort Of Ulcer Intestinal Problem.. Pretty Messy Stuff. But After Getting That Under Control, Wagner Went And Worked Out With Tim Grover(a world renowned basketball trainer) And Seems To Be Working His Way Back. Although His Potential Is Utterly Diminished By Now, Wagner Has To Be Happy Where He’s At Compared To Where He WAS. But Yeah Michaelds911, A Complete Bust, I Agree.

I thought Shelden Williams would ahve been at least a starter in the league. It looks like his potential was reached during his senior year. I also though Luol Deng would be a breakout star in the league. ANd as for my favorite JJ redick…….I felt like he would be a vital role player to some team. But the magic are treating him unfairly. They wont give hm playing time yet they wont trade him becuz they “really like him”. Wat kind of shit is that!!

God Shammgod. He had the name recognition and Austin Croshere as a teammate at Provindence. I think they lost to a Jaqcues Vaguhn led team in the Elite 8.

J.R. Smith is a nice player, but on the wrong team. He had three 40 point games last year. He doesn’t play any defense however.

Comparing him to T-Mac was sort of overhyped, but I think he could be an 18 ppg 6 ppg type of player…Jerome Moiso, Jonathan Bender, Dermarr Johnson, Omar Cook, DeJuan Wagner, Donnell Harvey, Rodney White, Eddie Griffin, and William Avery comes to my mind too, they now look like so much talent wasted…And I expected a lot more of Tyson Chandler when he was drafted (and traded for Elton Brand!)…I don’t wanna mention the players of the last draft generations, I still hope they could turn on something like Chauncey Billups, who was a bust in his first five years in the NBA.

Jeffries was so impressive in college, leading Indiana to the title game the year Maryland won it all. However, despite losing, Jeffries displayed his versatility, showing such good rebounding, ball-handling, and scoring, that you’d figure he’d go on to be a fantastic NBA player. As a Wizards fan, I was ecstatic for him to join the team, only to watch him do little to nothing until 2006, when Washington finally dumped him and the Knicks picked him up. He isn’t doing much in NY, either.

Brad Sellers, Chicago Bulls Bust. Drafted in the 1st Round by General Manager Jerry “Crumbs” Krause Right Before the Bulls Championship years when Jordan was in his third or fourth year with the team. Krause used to talk about Sellers being the 1st 7 foot Small Forward in the NBA like he was the second coming of Christ. He was so bad I remember him getting his shot blocked from behind by a 6′-2″ point guard when he HAD a breakaway Dunk on a Fast Break.

he was 6’11, 7 feet and moved so well, he was really a small forward, and an elite run jump athlete at 7 feet. Couldnt do anything else though. Joe Forte was the man, I dont know what happened.
