OK so you have to make a team

    Consider the following

    1)      – You can only choose one player from each section

    2)      – Everything is taking into account (chemistry/ chance of injury ect..not just talent)

    3)     –  This is just for one game (current skills) so don’t consider taking young players that may have bright futures (only for one game right now)

    4)      – Your goal is to create a team that you think has the greatest chance of winning

    Starters

    PG

    Steve Nash or Jason Kidd

    SG

    Kobe Bryant or Dwyane Wade

    SF

    Lebron James or Kevin Durant

    PF

    Kevin Garnett or Tim Duncan

    C

    Al Horford  or Brook Lopez

Bench Player (choose 1 only – cant choose the same position for next round)

    PG – Jason Terry

    SG – Emanuel ginobili

    SF – Ron Artest

    PF – Lamar Odom

    C – Tyson Chandler

Back From Retirement (chose 1 only and their skill level will be as it was in their prime – cant choose the same position from above)

    PG – Derrick Fisher

    SG – Bruce Bowen

    SF – Matt Harpring

    PF – PJ Brown

    C – Rasho Nesterovic

One young guy (choose one – cant be any of the same positions from above)

    PG – Brandon Jennings

    SG – Demar Derozan

    SF – Danilo gallinari

    PF – Dejuan Blair

    C – Javale McGee

One Unknown Talent (chose one cant be the same position as the one from above)

    PG – Brandon Knight

    SG –  Jeremy Lamb

    SF – Harrison Barnes

    PF – Anthony Davis

    C – Jonas Valanciunas

    Coach (choose 1)

    Gregg Popovich or Phill Jackson

    The End

If its only one game why would we take into account chance of injury I dont think anyone would not pick a player like Ginobli because hes injury prone if its only a duration of a game,Its not like Shaq is on your list.

    Starters

PG – Jason Kidd; showed he can play on or off the ball, knock down the 3pt shot, still a great defender.

SG – Dwyane Wade; primary ball-handler, ruthless scorer, excellent defender.

SF – Kevin Durant; can play off the ball, complements Wade well, outside shooting will prevent people doubling off him.

PF – Kevin Garnett; defensive anchor and stretch 4 to open up the lane for Wade.

C – Al Horford; hustle guy, will get garbage points.

Bench Player – C – Tyson Chandler; fits the defensive theme, can back-up Garnett or Horford and do a good job of it, especially on a team which has plenty of scoring.

Back From Retirement – SG – Bruce Bowen; defender to back up Wade

One young guy – PG – Brandon Jennings; giften playmaker, can score off the bench and run the show if they want a faster pace with Kidd resting.

One Unknown Talent – SF – Harrison Barnes; good defender, can knock down 3s, would make an excellent back-up for Durant.

Coach – Phil Jackson; enough said.

Fisher hasn’t retired yet… Or was that supposed to be funny lol?

And obviously, this team is going to win the game regardless of the players you pick lol. Roster would be stacked regardless from top to bottom.

Jason Kidd- Can distribute the ball well, defend well, and knock down open threes

Kobe Bryant- His midrange game is great, good defender, not much can be said about him.

Kevin Durant- Athletic, such a dynamic scorer, that it really makes up for his D

Kevin Garnett- Defense wins championships, and this man will shape this teams identity

Al Horford- I am not hating on Horford, but the reason I chose him is because my only other option could barely get 6 boards a game last season. But a good offensive player, can get boards, and a decent defender/

    Bench Player

Tyson Chandler- I am going with defense again, and if you put him in the frontline along with KG, than you’re looking at a kill defensive frontline.

    Back From Retirement

Bruce Bowen- Bruce Bowen………..from his prime? He locks down on the best perimeter player from the other team, and takes them out of the game, and with guys like Kobe and KD, he’ll get plenty of opportunities to spread the floor with that corner three.

    One young guy

SF – Danilo Gallinari- I wanted to choose Blair, but I figured that Tyson, KG, and Horford could do the dirty work inside. Danilo might be a lackluster defender, but he has great offensive tools.

One Unknown Talent (chose one cant be the same position as the one from above)

PG- Brandon Knight-Wanted to chose Barnes, but can’t chose another SF, and didn’t want to choose DeRozan, as I don’t think he would thrive on a team based around defense, three point shooting, and ball movement(outside of Kobe or Durant’s one on one play). And I feel that Knight would be all ears under Jason Kidd, and could develop under his wing .

    Coach

Gregg Popovich- I love Phil Jackson, but this team is a lockdown defensive minded team that also likes to spread the floor. Caoch Pop would turn this team into a 70 win team, even if we’re only talking about one game.

I thnk "Unknown Talent" should be changed to "Rookie". When I think of unknown talent, I think of a player like Brian Cardinal.

Whoa… What does those words above mean? but straight to the point, here are my choices:

    Starters:

PG – J.Kidd – carried the Nets to two straight Finals appearances and won a championship ring. Steve Nash may be more offensively gifted but Kidd and Nash have the same passing vision which is the only thing this star studded team needs. He can be a menace on defence as well, has great height and only shoots when need be. He is a triple double threat every game. He is the veteran leader that this team needs in times of great frustration. Definitely knows how to play in an up-tempo offense which this team will likely play in.

SG – K.Bryant – This is a tough one but based on clutchness, Bryant is probably the most clutch player in the league, he is the closes thing to Jordan and who better to pass the when the clock running down but to him.

SF – L.James – This guy is a monster period. He may not play well in the 4th but that’s what Bryant will do for this team. Durant is a beast as well but James is still the better player overall, although Durant is definitely getting to a level where he might win a championship soon.

PF – K.Garnett – This is a very tough choice as well. Garnett provides the emotional punch to this which can fuel them to win in tough games. Though Duncan is definitely the type of player who knows how to win. The thing that will separate them is Garnett’s X-factor ability to provide a game changing play for the team as he is also a better defensive player than Duncan.

C – A.Horford – More versatile and provides hustle plays which Lopez lacks as evidenced by his regression in rebounding. Lopez thrives in a half court game which this team will likely not do. Horford is more athletic and is able to run down court faster than Lopez.

    Bench Player

SG – E.Ginobli – Need that game changing play and fast? Well look no further, with his dizzying type of moves who somehow contorts his body and draw a foul while at the same time get the shot in, Ginobli is definitely the type of player this team needs. With his long arms and high basketball IQ, he is a great defender as well.

    Retirement Player

Um. Fisher is not even retired yet and Nesterovic still plays in Europe so technically we can only choose three of the players in that list but if I have to choose one, I’ll have to go with Fisher.

PG – D.Fisher – Definitely knows how to win and as much as I hate his flopping right now, he can provide game changing plays as well as evidenced by 0.4 shot in the playoffs and numerous dagger 3pt shots. Don’t let his stats on the Lakers fool you, given the chance he can be a scorer showed by his time in Golden State averaging 13ppg

    Young Guy

C – JaVale McGee – He might still be a bit raw and immature at times, but he definitely has a very tremendous upside. He was very inconsistent last season but averaging 10ppg, 8rpg and over 2 blocked shot, I would love to see how he would actually do if he does play well.

    Unkown Player

SF – H.Barnes – Definitely has the tools to become an all-star all he needs to do is to control himself and let the game come to him naturally.

    Coach

P.Jackson – The "Zen Master" probably has the most lethal offensive play ever, using the Triangle offense to destroy defenses en route to winning 11 titles for the Bulls and the Lakers, and becoming the winningest coach ever.

There you have it that’s my choice of players in that team.

PG: Kidd- great defender, still has speed, can shoot the 3, and is a very smart player

SG: Wade- Athletic freak, can take over in the clutch, aggessive, great defender

SF: Durant- great person/player, efficient, gets to the line, a threat to score, unstoppable

PF: KG- elite defender, can stretch to the 5, unbelievable post fadeaway, smart, energizer

C: Horford- can play the 4 as well, and just a great all around big man.

6: Lamar Odom- provides extreme versatility throughout the lineup, solid player

Retirement return: Bruce Bowen- one of the greatest defenders of our generation and could hit the 3

Young: Brandon Jennings- Kidd is aging and BJ would be great on a team where he doesn’t need to take on the scoring load

Unknown: Jonas Valanciunas- will be a great big man.  Can never have to many bigs.  Also, internationally, he has showed some of the most promise out of the up and coming players.

Coach- Pop…I would have taken Phil if I had some big egos, but I like everyone on this squad and feel they have enough leadership.  Pop knows he doesn’t need to boss these guys around, but he will be respected and teaches both sides of the ball.

Ok ya lol i dont know why i added fisher in the retirement section it was a subconcious thing

And as a raptors fan i remember rasho going into retirement but i did ho remember hearing that joined a euro but it sliped my mind

and i dont why said injury if its only one game i guess in game injury lol…i just mean you have to consider multple things i just want people to pick the best players but players that work well together

and as far as someone above saying – it doesnt matter what players i pick this team will be stacked and will win – this is not the case as i didnt mention who your opponent is what if its the players that you dont pick…it wont be such a easy win as i tried to make each choice hard

My favourite part of this thread was the opening. Now seriously…

    Starters
    PG: Steve Nash
    SG: Kobe Bryant
    SF: Kevin Durant
So hard to choose, but I like Durant’s style of play
    PF: Kevin Garnett
    C: Brook Lopez
Horford is to undersized in my opinion for a centre, if he was a PF I’d choose him over both of the above.
6th man: PG – Jason Terry
    7th man:SG – Bruce Bowen
    8th man: C – Javale McGee
Not Derozan because Bowen was the only player I wanted from the section above, not Blair because I want Anthony Davis next.
9th man: PF – Anthony Davis
Coach: Phil Jackson all the way.

    8th: Javale McGee

9th: Harrison Barnes (in case Kobe or Durant are having an off game, he can give me some 2nd and late 3rd/early 4th scoring)

    Interesting topic

PG – Steve Nash -He can score and pass. He is very fast with the ball and will push the tempo up and down the court on every position. His lack of defense wont be needed because his other teammates with will cover that.

SG – Kobe – Still the best overall player in the game. He can score, defend, rebound, and strike the dagger to the opposing team’s heart. The player that most resembles MJ’s game.

SF – Say what you want about this guy, but he can score in numerous ways and he is arguable the best on-ball defender in the game right now. The guy has character issues but I can’t discredit his talent. Durant is a beast and his pure shooting is better than LBJ, but he is not LeBron and he can’t take a game over like LeBron can.

PF – Garnett – His focus is defense and he will get this team ready for war day in and day out. His motor never stops.

C – Lopez – slight edge over Horford because of his height and length. He is a quiet giant, but he does have a nice offensive inside game and his defense is underrated. He will work well with stars like Kobe and LBJ.

6th – T. Chandler -all defense. He will get out there and do the dirty work that many in the NBA don’t do anymore. He will rebound, block, defend, run the floor, and piss off the opposing big men.

7th – Bowen – When you have LBJ and Kobe then all you need is defenders and Bowen will work well with the bunch.

8th – B.Jennings – This kid is fearless. His game in a way resembles Nash, but with a slight Marbury. This kid can score, pass, penetrate, and take it to the opposing point guard.

9th – Barnes – He is ready for the NBA. He has been ready since his senior year in High School. His transition to college wasn’t great, but he was able to flourish at the end of his freshmen season. He is a versatile player, kind of like Luol Deng, but much better. He won’t be a star like Kobe or LBJ, but he will compliment the star quote well.

Coach -Jackson – there is only one coach that can succeed by having more than one star on his team and that is Phil. It’s not easy coaching stars because there ego’s get in the way, but Phil has proved it in Chicago and LA that he can get the job done. Ten rings says it all.

Kidd-Leader. Good D, and has become quite a good spot up 3 point shooter. Championship pedigree now.

Kobe- Best in the game. Top closer. Still knows how to D up when needed and has become one of the best post players the game has to offer. Id take him off ball though and allow him to go MJ on bitches.

LBJ-He’d play the role of Pippen on steroids. Dominate games with his passing and will be a beast offensively for the first 3 quarters then allow Kobe to do his thing in the 4th. Basically hed play Pip’s role offensively and defensively.

KG- HUSTLE and HEAR. His fire alone would become contagious. He’d play a role similar to what Rodman did snatching up offensive rebounds and using his passign skills.

Horford-More versatile, better defender, and actually rebounds like he should. He’ll get quite a few minutes at the 4 since KG is up there in age and will hit spot up shots, help the D and rebound his position. Basically he’d be Ho Grant.

Bench player-Tyson- He’d be able to come in and grab 10 rbs and allow the defensive intensity that KG brings to stay on court when Horford moves down to the 4. THis would allow the team to start really running and gunning. Crazy athletic IMO.

Retired player-Bowen-Lockdown D, 40+% 3ball, and toughnosed occasional dirty play that gets in the head of other teams. gotta love Bruce for the same reasons you hate him. Still, every team needs a guy like him.

young player-Gallo- Gotta have a pure shooter who can play the role of Kukoc and come in, play 2-4 and knockdown shots at a good clip. Wont be asked to do much more than that.

Unknown player-Brandon Knight- HE’s smart, can play on ball or off and has size needed to play either backcourt position which is needed in the tri. His D is underrated IMO.

Coach PJ-Triangle 101 along with the fact Kobe and Kidd have both played under the tri before. Everyone else would play their games which are mostly tailor made for the tri.

    ——————–

    Kidd

    Kobe

    LBJ

    KG

    Horford

    6th Tyson

    7thBowen

    8th Gallo

    9thKnight
