This is about rookie players young players.Doc Rivers does well Perkins,Powe,Gomes,Al Jefferson,Rondo,Big Baby. A lot of people did not expect any of those guys to be as good as they have gotten. What coach do you think?

I wouldn’t give the credit as much to Doc Rivers. I think the real leader there is Kevin Garnett.

Rondo was pretty developed from college (Kentucky) and Big Baby was a offensive presence at LSU alongside Tyrus Thomas.

I am not talking about the Celtics team. Those young players were on the team before Garnett, read the question. The players he developed and moved to get guys like Garnett and the rookies who became good. Garnett was not there with most of those guys. We got KG because Al Jefferson became good enough to move mb6297.Garnett is not in the discussion and this is not about the Celtics. What coach develops their young players well is the question? .. Anyways, I think that Jay Triano will be known as a coach that can help develop young players. Ever since Sam Mitchell was fired, Bargnani has just exploded as the player that everyone thought he would become. I think he’ll do the same with whatever players the Raptors select in the draft.

Although hes only been there for one year hes doing a great job at OKC. hes getting the young stars to buy into a team system. although they all had great talent coming in hes making them more mature as players and is taking them to the next level as players as well

first off, i am a huge trailblazers fan, so i might be partial… i’m not saying they are the best, but they should be in the top five…

portland has done a good job developing young talent… they took roy from being a solid prospect into an all-star… aldridge has developed into a solid near all-star pf… outlaw was a late first round pick out of high-school who has become a great sixth man and could be a good starter for a team that needed more scoring in their starting line-up… batum was a late first round pick, and has developed very nicely as a 19 year old rookie… webster hasn’t acheived what was expected from him yet, but he’s still only 21 and was hurt most of the last two years, and the last time he played healthy, he was only 19…

oden is still only 21, missed a year, and is still recovering from micro-fracture knee surgery (which is supposed to take two years to recover from)… but he still has a lot of time to develope into the player he is capable of becoming…

most of their first round picks have met or surpassed their expectations at relatively young ages…

I totally agreeMcMillan has done a great job with that young team. They are very mature for such a young squad think about those winning streaks when they had only played a couple of seasons. Cant call Oden a bust yet give him time to recover. It takes some time to recover from micro-fracture knee surgery look at K-mart. the only one that recovered like Superman was Amare but McMillan has done a great job. The day of OKC and Portland ruling the west will come.

larry browns great at developing young talent? let’s not forget for years the rep he had was that he didn’t play kids much if at all in their rookie season.

For me it’s Nate McMilian. The guy just knows how to get the most of his players.

randolph is the only person you mentioned that was developed by the blazers not under nate… o’neal was not developed by the blazers… he developed when he was traded to the pacers… also, outlaw didn’t do anything until mcmillan came to portland… he became the player he is now in the last three years under nate…

NO dose you need to check your facts. The year he went to Indiana he made the All Star team. He was already developed but they had Wallace and Randolph so they traded him for a veteran. If you gonna say I am wrong you better be right. The did develope him. They had him for 5 years and when he move to another team he was an All Star. I never said he put up big number in Portland. You are probably the one to give me a minus huh.

randolph and o’neal never played together… not even close…

plus, look at his numbers his first four years… he put up almost the same numbers every year (especially if you look at his per minute numbers)… then he went to indiana and put up 12 and 9 his first year there, which is expected when you triple your minutes… his second year in indiana was the year he blossomed and went to the all-star game… you need to look at the numbers…

but ya, he played behind great players such as brian grant, kelvin cato, and chris dudley…

larry brown killed darko’s career. patrick ewing sr. though not a head coach has actually done a good job on both yao and dwight. jerry sloan i guess would be another coach who really develops talent.
