Reddic got eaten alive in the playoffs. He can’t guard Kyrie Jaylen or Terry. He’s a year older and slower. Philly needs to realize it will not get a max player. They only have 1 more year until Simmons and saric get max deals. They should have locked up a young player for a few years instead of these awful 1 year deals to jj reddick. In the last two seasons you’ve committed 40 million to an old shooter who can’t play D.

Its smart to keep options open, Danny did the samething with the Celtics. Giving Johnson huge deals but short term, giving Zeller like 12 million. He got what 23 million last year and 12 million this year. Nevermind few teams in the East have defenders like the Celtics. Reddick was massive for them getting 50 wins and reaching the second round of the playoffs. They could get a max guy next year, thats not crazy. So keep that option open. If I’m Leonard next year they are maybe the top team with cap space that gives you a chance at winning a title.

If they end up getting Kawhi you have the Klae Simmons Embiid and Covington as potential starters.. Thisnwould probably be the best defensive tean in the NBA.. They already lost 2 shooters couldnt let JJ go IMO

Only a one year deal, still have cap space to add another decent piece. Should go after Avery Bradley.

Theres nobody else to sign. Maybe Hezonja but thats a risky move and an obvious downgrade offensively. At $6 mil it makes sense though. Barton already resigned to Denver. Bradley is the only player left on a similar level but you give up alot offensively to get alot defensively would it be worth the switch?

They drafted Shamet and Smith and have Fultz coming up to eventually replace Redick. They went all in for George and Lebron and are still chasing Leonard.

Futlz/one of their young players developes to surpass him,That they will hit in F.A next offseason or They can include him in a trade for someone better by the deadline(like a Kawhi)…

But they always need shooters as long as Simmons has no jump shot they will need someone to open the floor up for Simmons and Embiid.

Is Reddick the best option for them probably not, but with the Market drying up fast since Lebron signed with the Lakers they need to get the BPA that will fit with their two stars(which at least they knew Reddick did).

Even if Ben Simmons magically turned into a Steph Curry like shooter, the 76ers will still need perimeter shooting. Hell every team in the NBA would happy have a lineup filled with knock down shooters.
