C.J. McCollum has been off to a not so hot start in his second year with Portland. McCollum’s season averages does not match the level of talent to be a lethal combo guard, that is expected to give the same push as Damian Lillard. I don’t want to completely write him off yet, because he’s been plagued by the bug, but there comes a point to where he must find his lane within the system to clock major minutes. Worst case scenario moving forward with McCollum is Randy Foye.

Randy Foye is a very competent player whose averaged double figures in all but two of his pro seasons since entering the league in 07. I don’t think thats a very realistic WORST case scenario, because thats a pretty freakin good worst case. Whats your best case for him then?

    I don’t think these draft sites use comparisons as ceiling. They’re just assuming those players have a similar game style.

  I’m still waiting for him to catch fire. It actually seems like déjà vu with McCollum. I could’ve sworn I’ve seen this scenario before with Jerryd Bayless.

McCollum has missed 14 games this year. He is playing behind Mathews and Lillard. Steve Blake is having a solid year. Batum and dorrell wright also compete for minutes.
McCollum plays within the system. Foye doesn’t care much for team chemistry.
