I know he came from the warriors but is he really believe he find the next Steph and Kley in this draft or is he trolling?

Well when it comes to finding the next Steph Curry, Trae is as close as you’ll get. I don’t know anything about that Huerter guy but I’ve seen some positive things written about him.

That too much trying to copycat instead  of trying to find the right thing…

I think I speak for almost everyone in ATL when I say we are sad about this pick and trade.

For Luka to fall to us at 3 was a blessing. He was BPA and a great fit, especially with Schroder wanting out. We pick him…and then trade him…for not even the best PG in the draft?

I would’ve been okay with Bamba, but it was a mistake to reach for Young like that. People compare him to Steph constantly, but he’s immensely smaller, way less athletic, and I think has severely less intangibles. Like I’ve said, if Young ends up better than Doncic than I give my props…but it’s hard for me to see that happening.

I think Huertner was the right pick and will be a very good player. But to think we could’ve have Doncic, Huertner, and who ever we pick at 30…that stings. Time will tell, but I’m not hopeful.

You speak for your self not the ATL..I like the trade. I’m not a fan of Luka, I think his foot speed and his lack of athletcism will get exposed. We continue to get more assets (future picks) like the Sixers and Celtics did..I like that.

Like I said, if Trae ends up better than Luka and has a better rookie year and career, I will personally make a post and apologize to you. I don’t see that happening though.

I hope you’re prepared to eat your words as well. Because I’d love to eat mine.

Hey If I’m wrong bro..I’m wrong and I’ll "eat my words" I Just want to hit up Phillips Arena and see the Hawks win more then 10 games next year. I feel like Trae gives us that chance.

If you really believe Trae Young is a better player than Luka Doncic and will give the Hawks a better chance of being relevant than if Luka were on the team, then I commend your guts.

I simply do not see it that way at all. But again. I hope you’re right.

I think it’s absolutely clear that they will trade Schroeder now although I’m not sure how much value they will get in return.

Smart thing and safe thing would have been to take Luka- his floor is a lot higher than Trae’s the ceiling could also be quite similar to Traes( Luka as a Harden/Booker/D russell type player)…

However the wild card move is if Trae hits his Ceiling(big if) he will be comparible to Steph which has proven to be very successful in the modern NBA.

They also got a future asset to either Pair with Trae or if he flames out go with their own pick…

Its like all they wanted is shooting. I don’t mind the players, but do they fit? Who plays D? Why not Donic? Then why bypass all those good defensive players at 34?

Yep really weird draft with 4 picks in the top 34.

Small, undersized, japanese wingspan players only.

No gamble on upside, athleticism, size, length, defensive potential, not even an euro stash either.

I think i would have tried some combination of JJJ, Doncic, bamba(3-5) Okobo, Okogie, Williams(19).

    Okobo-Robinson(30-34).

At least 1 or 2 of these guys, more than a 6’9 center or a very old graham.

    Hard tanking, long process.

Almost everybody has Trae has as the best PG in the draft. I sure hope people don’t think Sextons better? And not sure about the myth that Huerter doesn’t play D. Glad the Hawks stayed away from Bamba/JJJ.

Trae’s floor is way higher due to his passing ability. But people continue to sleep on that.

You’re acting like absolutely no one had Sexton as the best PG in the draft when I would say it was very split between him and young.

They both have one thing that they’ll be able to do without a doubt on the next level. Sexton with his energy and defense. Young with his shooting. Unfortunately I think Sexton again ends up the better player, but naturally I’d love to be wrong as a Hawks fan.

Hawks traded Graham. Huerter is 6’7 and a good defender…doesn’t have Japanese arms lol

Who has said Huerter is a good defender? He competes and tries, but he’s not a great athlete and lacks strength. He’s like a poor mans Hayward. So in time he might improve, but he won’t be good anytime soon at D in the NBA. Its all about his shooting right now.

The Hawks seemed sold on Trae and to get a nice pick back from Dallas could be valuable next year if Dallas are still a lottery team.

Huerter was in the draft range of their 2nd first rounder so was a good choice and they needed a big so Spellman makes sense there.

Passing on Doncic was a risky move but the package in return looked fair so lets see how it plays out.
