Last year the Bucks were seen as a team with a lot of promise and a chance to make a jump in the east.  After trading Brandon Knight last year and receiving MCW in return, the team got slightly worse, but once the playoffs began they were a fun team to watch compete.  I loved the tenacity and energy they played with against the Bulls even in a losing effort. I thought for sure this team would be better this year…. I’ve yet to watch the Bucks play this year so I’m wondering what happened to them along with many other questions…… Is it a lack of floor spacing? Has Monroe hurt the team more than he’s helped them? Is MCW a legit starting PG? Why hasn’t Jabari improved? Should Henson be playing more? ……. The Bucks are currently 3rd to last in the east and riding a 5 game losing streak.  This team is not short on talent so why are they so bad? And what moves could or should they make before the trade deadline, in the offseason, or in the draft to get better? This team has too much talent to be in the lottery.

full 82 games….. & over that time Milwaukee is 18 games under .500…… I would not blame it all on MCW though……. other contributors from last year who are gone – Ilyasova, Pachulia & Dudley & obviously Knight (who MCW replaced)…. – upset that delicate chemistry that a team develops…..

It might work out for the best if the Bucks can get a good PG in the Draft like Dunn or Murray & then talented 1st round players like Jabari Parker& Rashad Vaughn – who are Both still Very young can grow….

Even if you guys keep MCW & Draft another big man – that young core of the Greek, Monroe, Parker, Vaughn, MCW & whoever they Draft need time to grow as a unit….

I believe the Bucks are doing it the right way…. enjoy them growing as a unit & try to be patient…..

Knight was the a great fit at PG because he didn’t need the ball in his hands and could space the floor. Their lack of shooting is evident and teams appear to just be packing the paint on their whole team outside of Middleton. We see a lot of teams take steps back after a surprising year and this doesn’t surprise me in the least.

Having two of three perimeter players that can’t shoot 3’s really limits them offensively. Giannis and MCW both need to work on their shots or one of them will have to go to the bench.

I was thinking the Bucks could make some noise in the East? Come in as a 5th seed, maybe upset a team in the 1st round? But the Bucks have “dropped the ball”.

Brandon was better for them than MCW, but he wasn’t a PG you should pay that much money to.   I think the Bucks were aware of this and took a flyer on MCW instead.   They got to try MCW out and no doubt they will not resign him anytime soon.    They will look towards the draft or FA to get a good PG that’s better or have more potential than B. Knight.    Especially with so many decent PG’s available now, I doubt this will be an ongoing issue for them outside of this year.

I still think Giannis is a player that you can do without in your starting line up.  He has intangibles, but does nothing great on a consistent basis.   A lot of people cop pleas for him (he’s 21 now and a year older than Jabari).  This site had so many "The Greek" posts when they thought he had improved his shooting, but they’re mum now.

You gotta have a spread the floor/shot blocker with Greg Monroe too, there’s not a role player in the league outside of Ibaka that can remotely do that.  I have voiced my disdain with Greg too much so I’m going to leave it there.

I think the biggest issue with the Bucks is they don’t have a set plan on who they want to build behind or how.   They’re just going to collect decent talent and operate in a space like a team that has potential to be an 8 seed.   Nothing more, nothing less…

I think it comes down to lack of spacing. Having MCW and Giannis on the floor at the same time allows teams to pack the paint. They need a point guard who can shoot from 3 to offset Giannis’s lack of a three point shot. However, I also think poor coaching has contributed to this teams decline. None of the young guys seem to be improving much (Giannis has improved a little this year, but not as much as I think we would have expected). If I am the Bucks I, 1.) Sign a veteran point guard who can shoot in the offseason. 2.) If one is there when they pick, they should draft a young point guard for the future (Jamal Murray should be around when the Bucks pick). 3.) I would consider changing coaches

Knight was a better fit but they needed to get something back for him because they couldnt afford to re-sign both him & Middleton. I would try and get Holiday and Ryan Anderson for Monroe and MCW. Trade works financially, gives the Bucks the shooting and spacing they need. The Pels have had a horror time with Jrue’s injuries, so they may be willing to move him. MCW and Monroe will both be a better fit there too, the Brow is one big Monroe could play with, while a rebounding guard with a bit more on D helps in areas they are near the bottom of the league in.

MIL – Jrue, Khris, Freak, Jabari/Anderson, Henson and they draft a 5

NO – MCW, Gordo , Evans, Brow, Monroe and they draft BPA

Bringing in Monroe and losing Zaza has really hurt that defense.

Nothing "happened" to the Bucks. They picked up right where they left off last season.

Monroe has the best +/- on the team so it’s not his fault. This team was over the day Brandon Knight got traded.
