Lotto StudParticipantSeriously! What happened to this guy’s game? Right now he’s averaging 17.0ppg 3.7rpg 3.7apg but that doesn’t seem nor appear to be a shell of his freshmen campaign to where he could have been a lock for the top 15 in the 2015 draft class. I’m really disappointed for his stock to take a huge hit the way it has.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantTo say he would have been a guaranteed top 15 pick after his freshman season is not accurate. He might have been a very late first rounder at best if he decided to declare in 2015.
Unfortunately, often times the longer you stay in school the more it gives scouts time to dissect weaknesses in your game. Trimble’s sophomore season was a disappointment. He has rebounded nicely to have a very strong junior season. However, the same question marks still remain. He hasn’t shown the type of growth as a playmaker many anticipated and still isn’t really a pure pg. He is limited athletically which could hurt his ability to finish in traffic and there are question marks about his ability to defend NBA pgs.
Trimble probably projects as a combo guard who can provide scoring punch off the bench against second units. If he can carve out a role doing that, he could definitely have a long and successful NBA career. The way the game is played now, you can never have to many guys who shoot and create their own shot. I don’t see him as more than a second rounder if he declares this year but he could possibly be a steal though.

Untouchable JParticipantNothing at all has changed. He was just never THAT good. Exhibit A to why declaring early has never had anything to do with if you’re ready. It’s all about maximizing your stock
