I feel this fits both teams. OKC get some much needed veteran leadership with both West and Watson. West offers some much needed depth as a big man and could create a very nice rotation with Adams and Ibaka. Watson is more a move for the sake of Waiters, he can effectively play off the ball in the 2nd unit and shoot fitting next to Waiters who likes to have the ball.
Indiana get a PG with nice potential and Jackson has been around long enough to still come in , immediately making a contribution as well as being involved in the future. Perkins has a nice expiring deal that can go some way towards Indiana locking up Jackson long-term. Can move Hill over as 2-guard where he fits better.

treytalkssports.comParticipantI like it. I think West could be the perfect veteran pickup for a team like the Thunder. His toughness, defense around the rim, IQ, and perimeter shooting are all a perfect fit for the Thunder.
Plus, the Pacers have to start looking at players they can pair with George for the next 5-7 years. Jackson’s attacking mentality seems like a good fit next to George, but he desperately needs to find his confidence outside.

Plus, the Pacers have to start looking at players they can pair with George for the next 5-7 years. Jackson’s attacking mentality seems like a good fit next to George, but he desperately needs to find his confidence outside.

Thunder get the veteran power forward to help in the playoffs, someone to score inside which is a need they have there. Watson is a solid backup guard too.
A very good trade idea, although Pacers would have to decide if they want to pay what Jackson expects which is a lot.

They take guys and develop them into fantastic bench players and trade them for future assets, which is a very sustainably winning culture… The problem is that they haven’t gotten over the hump to prove that this strategy should continue.
With that said, I think OKC doesn’t trade Reggie Jackson quite yet, if at all. If they do, I’d imagine they’d want a lot more in return than David West. I’d rather see OKC get someone like Pekovic, but I don’t know what kind of trade they would have to put together to get him.

CU.LIONSParticipantI do like this trade for both teams. For OKC West is and has the type of playoff toughness and experience at a position that they could really use. OKC can’t worry about what Durant might do in a few years. They can and need to win now. And getting someone for RG who might not be there long anyway is a good move IMO.
And like mentioned above the pacers are getting a good younger player to pair with PG for the future. It would also help the Pacers get a better draft pick if West leaves.
