ShamoN 513ParticipantLooking at the 2012 mock draft…. then looking at the 2013 mock draft. What Im wondering is how many prospects on that 2013 mock will end up in this years 2012 draft. I personally see more than a few, but I want your opinion. Who do you see going drafted this year vs. next and why?

JunkYardDogParticipantI don’t think a lot cause the draft of this year is already HUGE…
My only wonder for the draft of 2013 is how good steven adams will be…. cause I love his game.

21_21_42ParticipantStern said in the deal he had set up that the drafting age would change and go up to 20y/o… So i’d say if that does happen then a lot of players that are on this years mock draft will be bumped up to the 2013 draft, and some players from the 2013 mock draft will be in the 2014 draft in so on. IMO it’s all going to come down to age, I believe thats what you were getting at in the post. But for me it’s hard to say who’s who right now, i only follow 4 NCAA teams UCLA, AZ, DUKE, SY. I don’t really get into looking at players stats until the final 4 or draft comes around.

sideburn2goParticipantI could see Tony Wroten, James Mcadoo, Patric Young, and Fab Melo all coming out this year possibly… Also I think its ridiculous that they have Rivers in the 2013 draft I think hes a lock to leave this year.

Anton123ParticipantRivers may not be that much of a lock, with his stock falling lately and other’s stocks rising, he has a chance to fall out of the lottery. He might opt to wait for a year to be a surefie lottery pick.
Although that sounds like a bit too much of a mature decision for him lol.

mikeyvthedonParticipantEntering 2012:
- Tony Wroten Jr.: Just seems like someone who will show enough flashes to leave early.
- Austin Rivers: He will more than likely still be one of the better ranked SG’s in the draft. As Anton pointed out, he does not HAVE to leave, but I think he very well could. I think he is a one and done candidate still, he could definitely be Duke’s leading scorer and an All-ACC performer. He had a poor game against Michigan State, and he will more than likely not be the first SG off of the board (Jeremy Lamb looks like he is 1, with Beal and Terrence Ross being possibly in front of Austin as well), but he could still enter
- LeBryan Nash: He is going to have a big year and he is seems to be a huge candidate for being one and done. He is incredibly physically mature, so I think he is a guy that enters in 2012
- Patric Young: I do not love him as a prospect, but he is a big body who has potential to play the 5 in the NBA. That will more than likely means he enters a draft weak at the 5 spot.
- Will Barton: He has length and athleticism one would want in a SG. My guess is he enters, albeit is probably more in the late first round range rather than a lotto pick.
Either way, a case can be made for most of them to come back as well. Those are 5 guys I could really see leaving, along with James Michael McAdoo, but I believe that he will want another year as a main figure on UNC after their entire front court rolls in 2012 (most likely). Steven Adams is a guy who may never play a college game either, but I would like to think he goes for a year to Pitt. Guys who could stay in college for 2012? I think that Kendall Marshall, DeWayne Dedmon and even Renardo Sidney could all be possibilities. We will see in a few months, but my guess is that whatever you project will probably be alright.
