Being a MN fan I am curious what they should do with the players they have. Obvoiusly, a trio of Love, Beasley, and Williams is nice but you can’t put Love at center so all of these guys can start. I may get some negatives on this but what about trade Love as his stock is about as high as it will ever be. I know Love is a really good player but at some point we need a solid center.

Trade love to get a solid center and another peice (possible a SG). There are athletic bigs out there if we offered up Love (McGee and Jordan for example). Love is a much better player than these guys which means we could get another player along with the trade. Could you imagine a frontcourt of Beasley, Williams, and McGee/Jordan? That would be the most athletic (and crazy young) frontline in the league.

I am not sure how this would work but let me know your thoughts or if you have a different trade ideas to make this work.

I think they should first see if D-Will is a SF or a PF.. If he is a SF then you trade Beasley.. If he is a PF then I think you either trade Derrick Williams or K-Love.  Because what if D-Will is a SF and then your stuck with 2 SF’s and no Kevin Love.. The Wolves don’t need a SG though. Wesley Johnson is still very young and has had some solid games. You don’t give up on a player this early.  now whoever you trade you need to get a Center and maybe some role players.

Beasley for Kamen is a trade that’ll help both teams..

Beasley for Josh Smith..Atlanta seems to be in a hurry to trade him.But i dont know why..Becuz Josh’s a unique player…

The best thing Minny can do right now is hope the Lakers trade Bynum, Artest, Caracter, and Ebanks for Love, Wes Johnson, Pekovic, and Brad Miller.  Maybe get some cash and some future Laker draft picks.

Why do everybody think they have to trade Beasley or Williams right now?

Lets wait and see what type of player Derrick Williams becomes…

Both Beasley and Williams are simply too young, their games too similar and require too much playing time to develop adequately together . You’ll never get a good sense of what one is capable of by trying to pull of a juggling act (see Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady on the Toronto Raptors).

IMHO, we’ve seen enough of Beasley to determine that he’ll be nothing more than a flawed NBA player; a guy that can put up big numbers but is too flawed fundamentally(defensively), physically (tweener), and intellectually (offensive awareness) to be the foundation of a winning team. I see Beasley as a future 6th man candidate but not as someone to build a team around, which is why he should be the one to be traded since his ego and immaturity could turn him into a disgruntled player if he is benched. I’d move him for some combination of veterans and/or draft picks.

Besides firing Kahn? I think the Wolves best option might be to hold the course and continue to suck. They’ve added two lottery picks in just a year and need to get an idea of how these guys will play together. More importantly, they need time to guage how effective these players will be as individuals in the future. Doing so will allow them to differentiate between players that will be core to their future success and those that will be expendable. From there, they need to package the expendables for a supporting cast that compliments said core.

Unfortunately for the Wolves, their roster is nothing but a bunch of redundancy and physically flawed players. Most of those players can contribute to a winner but none are good enough to actually lead a team, especially in the West. This is why sucking would be in their better interest. They’ll be bound to find a player worthy of building a franchise around. When that occurs, everything else will fall into place like dominos.

I really like Love and Williams as a forward combo.  Beasley probably fits in better as a 6th man.  Very good scorer, but not incredibly efficient plus he isn’t some awesome rebounder either.  You also have Anthony Randolph in there too.  I think you play it out and see what happens.  I think legit contenders need 2 superstars (or at least all-star talents), solid point guard play, several scoring options, and a deep bench.

I think Love and Williams an be a legit 1st and 2nd option, Rubio is a good playmaker and should help a lot, plus you have some depth.  Right now they have Beasley who is an above-average scorer at the 3 but there are a lot of small forwards out there and you can’t really trade a non-superstar small forward for a top center like Dwight Howard or even Andrew Bynum or Andrew Bogut.  You probably can’t get a top shooting guard either.

I also like the Beasley for Kaman trade.

Or trade Beasley to the Rockets for Courtney Lee, Jordan Hill, Chuck Hayes, and two future second round picks.  The Rockets get a good scorer and the  T Wolves get 3 legit role players, one of which is a solid shooting guard and the other two can play some center.

If that trade goes through the T Wolves would have this depth chart:

    C: Darko, Jordan Hill, Pekovic

    PF: Kevin Love, Chuck Hayes

    SF: Derrick Williams, Anthony Randolph

SG: Wes Johnson, Courtney Lee, Wayne Ellington, Martell Webster

    PG: Ricky Rubio, Luke Ridnour

But, that would assume that D-Dubya plays great, that Anthony Randolph is a good sixth man at either forward spot, and that Jordan Hill improves.  On paper, that sounds like a more well-rounded team but there is now a log jam at shooting guard, and you can’t rely on Lee, Hill, and Hayes to replace Beasley’s scoring.

One question I have is if you rest Kevin Love then can a front line of Beasley, Williams, and Randolph deliver?  Those three guys have a ton of talent, and are good athletes and scorers.  If they can then that would be an awesome reserve team.  You put those guys with Rubio along with one of their backup shooting guards and you don’t really lose anything if Kevin Love (your best player) and another of your starters sits down.  That’s where having Beasley helps.  With him you can afford to sit either Love or Williams for extended minutes and he can help you stay in the game.

With the current team the T Wolves have 4 guys who can play at either front court position (Love, Randolph, Williams, and Beasley).  You can put any combination of those 4 guys in on the front line and they will be solid.  You have Rubio at point and Darko as a decent center.  That’s a great six man core, then you use a couple of shooting guards (as well as a backup center) to make for a very good 8 1/2 man rotation.

I really like what the T Wolves are doing going forward.  Teams now need a Big Three and Love, Williams, and Rubio has a lot of promise.  Then you still have some good guys to bring off the bench as well as a solid starting center and a good, veteran, backup point guard (another key).  If they can get the 2 guard spot sorted out then they will be in great shape.

I like the idea of moving Beasley for Kaman (like what someone said). The Wolves need veteran leadership and size that can play defense- both measures that Kaman scores fairly high on. Because the Clippers are so inept and so in need of young talent to augment their core, I could see them making the move for Michael Beasley. Maybe the Wolves could throw in Brad Miller and the Clippers could send over a Jamario Moon-type player to add better symmetry on the court.

As a Wolves fan I would be pissed if we traded Beasley.  If in fact Williams is a better fit at the three as the starter, having Beasley come in off the bench as instant offense (Jamal Crawford, Lamar Odom, JR Smith) is not a problem or a "logjam".  Beasley hasn’t shown much on the defensive side of things, but neither has say Kevin Durant. I think Minny should get a young uptempo but defensive minded coach and run with the players they have and let them develop.

They just traded for Miller, there is no need for Kaman.  I value Beasley’s future in the NBA more than Kaman’s.

    1) hire a good coach…if they can with what’s happened to Rambis

    2) salary dump/trade Pekovic/Webster/Hayward/Ellington/Miller

    3) spend the next year auditioning D-Williams/Beasley/Anthony Randolph for roles a "core players" going forward

    4) use whatever capspace they have in addition to whoever loses the audition to pursue vet upgrade at positions of need most likely 2 and 5.

    5) re-sign Love and possibly Beasley/AR depending on audition results.

They aren’t going to have a good year next year, but hopefully it’s enough to get KLove to sign the extension and decide between Williams, AR and Beasley as to who joins Rubio and Wes Johnson as the "core" going forward.
