I have identified a group of players that are at a crossroads of their NBA careers. These are players that came into the league with high expectations and for one reason or the other..may it be injuries, lack of playing time, wrong system, or just lack of talent have not reached the level many people thought they would be at.

Feel free to add players to the list of debate.

Please reply with commentary what level these players are headed to for the rest of their careers
    All-Star
Starting 5 NBA Player (quality team)
Rotation Player (guy 6-8 on team) (quality team)
    Bench Warmer
    Out of the League

    Tyrus Thomas
4th pick in draft headed into fourth year, 23 years old. One of the best athletes in the NBA. Averaged 11ppg 6.5 rpg 2 blks last year. I just dont see the development in his offensive game to be a starting player on a championship team. I see him being defined as an energy player off the bench. ROTATION PLAYER

    Rodney Stuckey
Going into third year. Will be starting PG. Averaged 13ppg 4rpg 5apg. last year. Great ability to get to basket. ALL-STAR

    Brandon Wright
9th pick 17mpg. I really have not seen much of him play. This year will give a better indication. ROTATION PLAYER

    Kyle Lowery
24th pick. Going into 4th year. Averaged 8ppg 3rpg 4 apg. Had his best statistical year. Now on good Houston team but will be back up Aaron Brooks. Not starting point guard material. ROTATION PLAYER

    Adam Morrison
3rd pick. For a player who came into the league with the expectation of being a scorer has never shot better than 38% fg. Does not have athletism to play at this level. OUT OF LEAGUE.

    Mike Conley
4th pick 22 year old going to third year. STARTING NBA PLAYER

    Yi Julian
Has the height and Athletic Ability to be a good player. Had no statistical jump from rookie year to second year. Should get more shots with Vince Carter gone. STARTING NBA PLAYER

    Corey Brewer
7th pick. Had Scottie Pippen comparisons when he came into league for his long frame and defensive ability. Injury limited him to 15 games last year. Jury still out but I see him as BENCH WARMER

    Julian Wright
13th pick has gotten limited playing time so this may be a case like Jermaine O’neal..wrong player stuck on good team who breaks out once he leaves team. Just not sure as I have not seen him play….ROTATION PLAYER

    Greg Oden
1st pick. Lot of debate on forum here regarding him. I feel he has the right attitude and really wants to work hard to become great. Expectations were super high in Portland last year for him that it affected him. His size and athletic ability along with Center being such a weak position in the league should allow him to dominate the position in a few years. ALL-STAR

    J.J. Redick
14th pick national player of the year was suppose to be a sharp shooter for Orlando. Has struggled at times with shot but found himself in rotation during Orlando playoff run. At 25 years old, he is older than most players I have mentioned. ROTATION PLAYER

    Andrea Baragnani
Averaged 15 5 rpg on 45% shooting. Not going to be the superstar you would hope to get with the 1st pick still going to be solid but doesnt rebound. STARTING

there are still a number of question marks. But Oden is the only guy i can see making an all star game. I would say the 3 most likely to be out of the league would be morrison, Julian wright, and Corey brewer.

Tyrus Thomas – I want him to become a starting 5 NBA player, but I think the chances are he’ll be a very athletic/high motor rotation player.

Rodney Stuckey – Starting 5 NBA Player

Brandan Wright – He’s been a bench warmer since he was drafted, but given the opportunity he could be a very solid rotation player.

Kyle Lowry – Rotation player… He’s a pit bull lol.

Adam Morrison – Bench Warmer, but he could be out of the league if he doesn’t start playing D and rebounding.

Mike Conley – Starting 5 NBA player

Yi Jianlian – A rotation player right now, BUT I think eventually he’ll be a starting 5 NBA player.

Corey Brewer – Brewer has been a disappointment thus far. He’s coming off of a knee injury (similar to the one Morrison suffered), but I think he’ll eventually end up as a solid rotation player. If he doesn’t work on his ball handling though, he’ll be either a bench warmer or out of the league.

Julian Wright – Similar to Brandan Wright… He’s been a bench warmer for the most part since he was drafted, but I think given the right opportunity he could be a solid rotation player.

Greg Oden – All-Star IF he’s healthy, which I think he will be. He has made strengthening his muscles, etc to prevent injuries a priority.

    J.J. Redick – Rotation player

Andrea Bargnani- Starting 5 NBA player

i dont agree with stuckey being a all star..just hasnt been consitant enough and more of a scorer then a pg and detroit has 2 better scorers at his position. at times he didnt do much at pg that the team would play him and will bynum at the same time

a far as adam morrison he didnt shoot great his rookie year which alot of rookies do then he was hurt the other 2 times. you dont have to be a great athlete to stick in the leauge so i think he will be a good 7th man off the bench . brewer hasnt shown anything from jump before the injury but i dont think he will be out of the leauge. same with julian just dont think they will have much of an impact.
tyrus is always gonna be that player you are gonna be expecting more from because of his physical talent

I think the Knicks would be a good fit for Morrison. They could try to get Morrison and Farmar or something like that for Duhon. Farmar can run all he wants, and Morrison could try to play like he did a Gonzaga.

which direction do you see his career going? he has shown a lot of improvement from his rookie season to the playoffs last year. I see him as a top 5 center in the league, but not necessarily an all-star. What do you guys think?

i think he will a lot like Joel Pryzbilla a beastley defender and rebounder and be an undervalued player but i dont think he will ever be much of a scorer.

I agree with you when you say he will not be much of a scorer, I don’t think he’ll be a player that can create his own shot, but i think his athletic ability and energy (few bigs run the floor like Noah) will give him fast break second chance opportunities that Pryzbilla doesn’t get for himself, I can see Noah being a 11 /9/ and 2 guy as soon as this year.

yeah i think hell be a little better scorer than Pryzbilla but he will always be underrated because his strench is rebondind and i dont think hell gety more than 12 points a game his whole career.
