llperezwhen the offensive player pump fakes gets the defender in the air and leans in to draw the contact. Obviously if the defender is coming forward its a legit foul, but sometimes the offenivs player has to really make an unnatural forward movement to innitaite the contact and get the call.
There’s a loose ball and one player is on the ground trying to grab the ball and then other players pretty much dive on top of him trying to get to the ball.
the offensive player is driving to the basket. He already picks up the ball and begins his motion to leave the floor and attack the rim. A defender slides into place and by the time the contact happens he is set and takes it square in the chest. However he wasnt in place until after the offensive player had already started to leave the ground thus the offensive player had no way of changing direction by the time the defnder got set.
These are calls we see all the time in basketball that i normally dont care for. Many times they are legit but far too often i disagree with the refs interpretation on these calls.

Malik-UniversalParticipantthe first one is still imo a foul despite the offensive player leaning, thats just smarts by the guy with the ball
the 2nd one is def a foul cuz u just dont literally dive onto someone for a looseball… thats a lot of contact
the 3rd one should be a blocking foul
