andxxxParticipantWhy don’t Dexter Pittman and Jamal Magloire get more playing time? Both are 6’11 which solves the height problem neither would need to score and would provide rebounding and defense. I know Pittman has conditioning issues, but he’s in way better shape and still big enough to box people out and rebound. Both seem like better options than Joel Anthony and neither are on the active roster. It doesn’t make any sense to me

RUDEBOY_Participantjust having a wide body in the middle will make guards think about driving into the lane…..They should sign Dampier while they have the chance..or rush Pittman in the lineup…

ShekiruBoomParticipanti think people are expecting way too much out of dexter pittman. theres a reason why he was a second round pick. you guys are making him sound like some defensive stud center. but i guess you can’t get lower than joel anthony and his retarded contract lol

HitsterParticipantI see that the Heat put Big Z back in as the starting C, his size should make a difference to them and he will know exactly how LeBron plays. I’m also a bit surprised that Juwan Howard and Jerry Stackhouse haven’t seen a few more minutes as they are the ideal sort of veterans who can play around the big 3, Haslem or co.
Pittman is a long term prospect but the likes of Glen Davis learnt on the job at Boston in similar circumstances in 2007/08 so maybe they should look to give him as many garbage minutes as they can to help him develop.

nateoak10ParticipantFirst off Arroyo has to sit for Mario, then maybe cut House’s playing time for Jerry’s? There rotations suck bad,, last year Q Rich was playing more than Dorell Wright and Wright is showing his worth this year. Spoelstra is utterly confused.

Meditated StatesParticipantagainst good teams. I agree Magloire would help over Anthony. Just think Chalmers nor Arroyo are the answer at point. Must improve ball movement and less dribbling around by Lebron and Wade.

Bossy13ParticipantOne things for sure, if a team’s best option to replace one crappy Canadian center is with another crappy Canadian center, then they’re in trouble.

esperanzafleet69Participantare u kidding me chalmers isnt the answer at the point? hes an extremely good defensive pg who can shoot the 3…. what more would they want out of a pg? i honestly cannot believe arroyo gets more minutes than chalmers at this point…
until pat riley takes this team over, the heat will continue to be crappy… spoelstra just cannot utilize these big names to their potential…
also when mike miller gets back itll be a whole different story….

Chalmers really isn’t the answer though. Chalmers is a backup PG. I think they’d be better off going for someone like Jarrett Jack.

PlatypusParticipantNext year they can do it if they can sign some pieces that would actually fit with this team
examples: Sammie D, Tyson Chandler, Nazr Mohammed, or as crazy as this sounds Kendrick Perkins (all free agents)

JNixonParticipant"He really isn’t a whole ton better than Chalmers. Not enough to make a move anyway."
They don’t really need him to be a ton better. They need a PG who can distribute some, play off the ball and knock down shots with consistency, and play D. Jack is a better PG than Chalmers will ever be, and they should really think about trying to get him. He’s as good a fit for the Heat as there is, that would be available without having to give up anything truly valuable or irreplaceable.

JNixonParticipantYou’d have to ask that to someone who understands trades. I’m not good with those types of things, but I’m sure the Heat can offer something for him without having to give up the big 3, Miller, House, or Haslem.

Haha Sam Dalembert. If they sign a third Canadian center at least they’ll get a few fans north of the border. Maybe even Oh Canada will jump on the Heat bandwagon.

HitsterParticipantI wonder how long before the clamour for Pat Riley to replace Erik Spoelstra starts up. Pat Riley stepped down two years ago saying that Coaching was a young man’s game and whilst several coaches are older than Pat Riley returning to the bench again would stretch him if he remained as Team President and at 65 years old would he still want the hassle.
If Doc Rivers does quit Boston and returns to Florida to be with his family then he’d no doubt be a strong candidate to fill any Miami vacancy but whilst Coach Spoelstra is still in situ he should be allowed to get on with his job.
