Memphis MadnessParticipantContinuing on the topic of theoretical trades what about this one? The trade machine says that this trade doesn’t really help either team, but the Hawks get to move Josh Smith and get some decent stuff in return. The Bulls add some pieces that might fit better, getting two up tempo guys who can score some and play some defense.

Tell me what you guys think! If the Bulls have to send over a future 1st round pick then I think they should do it to get the deal done.

PlatypusParticipantthe hawks need a small forward or a center not another power forward

mikeyvthedonParticipantI see no reason why the Hawks would trade to get older. Totally understand from the Bulls perspective, but I am pretty sure that is the only perspective you were looking from. Than again, that future Bulls first round pick does sound pretty awesome…….

Memphis MadnessParticipantmickey,
you have a point. But the trade machine projects -1 for the Hawks and -2 for the Bulls on this trade. I also think that this trade would help Chicago more with Josh Smith giving them a more up-tempo power forward. The Hawks would get a better inside scorer and rebounder in Boozer along with a good backup 2 guard (or a starting 3) in Ronnie Brewer). Horford and Boozer up front would be slower but they could really pound it inside, score, and rebound. The Hawks would then have a bunch of weapons on offense with Boozer, Horford, Joe Johnson, Jamal Crawford, Jeff Teague, and Marvin Williams.

NO EZ BUCKETSParticipantThis would just make the siruation worse for the hawks. They are trying to move horford to the 4. They can’t do that with boozer though. It’s actually better to have j smith so that the hawks can still have al play the 4 by moving smith to the 3. The hawks are looking for a SF or a C right now.

iguapops420Participant3 team
ORL-Boozer(to join bff Dwight and keep Dwight happy)
ATL-Deng,Korver,Asik(defensive center of future,SF that shoots the 3 and is a terrific rebounder defender, and a terrific backup Shooter)Not like they use Boozer’s post ability anyway.
CHI-Smith,Jamaal Crawford,Turkoglu(Defensive 4 to run with Rose,Terrific 6th man with size tht can play the Ben Gordon role, and a 3 who can play decent team D,playmake a bit, and can space the floor)

KHAM83ParticipantSo Orlando turns Turk into Boozer???? Not only will this deal keep Dwight happy, but Im thinking keep you happy as well. Josh Smith is talented, but no team can really win with him at thr 4. He is a talented defender, stats wise w/ his blocks and such, but he cannot bang with the PFs around the league night in and night out. Remember, towards the end of the season, and into the playoffs, Collins started at the 5, Hartford at the 4, because they needed size to bang against Howard, Boozer/Noah. Chicago also fell in love with Deng all over again, they aren’t moving him unless theyre receiving a superstar.
Atlanta’s first priority is to bring in a Center, period. Second on the list, is to move Josh Smith. Therefore we need to think of teams with depth at Center, that may be willing to take on Josh Smith. Clips want to move Kaman, and I like a Kaman/Hartford combo, but I think the Clips would rather bringing in Iggy if the rumors are true. I posted a post earlier, in response to another, involving a deal of Josh Smith to the Suns (where he can play the 4) in return for a package of Robin Lopez/Dudely/first round pick. Fills needs for the hawks, plus gets them a potential lotto pick in a talented 2012 draft. **Before you start hitting the negative button, I explained how Smith is a cancer and the hawks are ready to move him and that its unlikely to get equal talent for him.

iguapops420ParticipantNah, dude, I’m a Lakeshow fan. Is it a reaslistic deal? Probably not, just thinking out loud really. BTW, don’t overrate Boozer, chitown would get rid of Booz so they can get Smith. They, like many have said about Smith in the other thread, are regretting his contract. Turks has 2 years left at a fairly cheaper deal(though still too large). Takes some of the ball handling off of Rose and gets a pick and roll option with Noah and Smith. Boozer’s D is atrocious and doesn’t fit Thibs style. Not to mention his best assest aka post play, isn’t used nearly the right way. It’s mostly just a move of priority. Not to mention, ATL gets a potential defensive STUD at the 5 in Asik.
BTW, that ws MY post for Lopez,Dudley, pick. Even though I feel Smith has far better potential. Don’t forget, stranger things have happened than Turks for Booz.
