Forte IVParticipantSo the Pelicans now have Jrue Holiday, Eric Gordon, Tyreke Evans, and they just picked up Morrow today. So… where exactly does that leave Austin?

phila9012Participantthat would actually be good for him. It would humble him, they could have him focus on getting better and fitting in with the team. while also building his confidence. Then after next year he might be able to be a solid NBA player

SiggyParticipantDepends how they’re going to use Tyreke. Word is that the Pelicans want to use Tyreke in that Ginobili role, which would push Austin to the 4th guard role, which suits him since he’s not good.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI don’t think Rivers is better than Brian Roberts.

SuckerpunchParticipantRoberts was pretty solid when he got gametime last year.

Sewok15ParticipantNew Orleans wasn’t on national TV one time last year that I saw. I think I vaguely remember him playing at Dayton 6 years ago but I most likely only watched one Dayton game in the 4 years he was there. Looking at his numbers now he looks like he was a lot more productive than Rivers…but the same can be said of every guard in the league last year.

LA12ParticipantI remember watching last year’s draft hoping and praying someone would pick him before it got to the Blazers’ turn at 11 since there was rumors that Portland was looking at him with the pick. I knew this is how he’d turn out, and he doesn’t have enough potential in my eyes to justify it being ok that he was so bad in his rookie year.

CameronCrazy11ParticipantIn Austin’s one season at Duke, I thought he almost single-handedly ruined Duke’s offensive flow. He was so ball dominant and often would force up bad shots and not play Coach K’s type of defense. I wasn’t surprised in the least bit to see Duke improve as a team when he left nor was I surprised to see him struggle this season. Normally I never want anyone to leave after one year at Duke (i.e. Luol Deng, Kyrie Irving), but I was pretty happy when Rivers left after his freshman year.

PabloFiascoParticipantHopefully traded to a team like Utah…they need guards and they’re rebuilding so he’d get plenty of time there

RUDEBOY_ParticipantLOL..Yeah when i saw Roberts playing really good in the early part of the season,i felt he was a fluke…And attributed it to teams not having him in their scouting reports and not guarding him……But he surprised me by playing well the entire seson….

CameronCrazy11ParticipantAdding on to this topic, I saw ESPN had a poll question asking if the Pelicans could ever be championship contenders with their current core. In parentheses, it listed Anthony Davis, Jrue Holiday, Tyreke Evans, and Austin Rivers as that core. I know it’s only ESPN but how do you list Rivers and not Eric Gordon?
