The8thDeadlySinParticipantIf yall really want to see some good basketball, tune in to the D2 championship game here in a minute.
West Liberty is the higest scoring team in the nation. They play sound defense and force the tempo. They score like its easy and defend to force turnovers.
Jim Critchfield has the higest winning percentage of any coach, that has been coaching at least 10 years, of anyone in the NCAA at 85%.
No NBA prospects in this game but if you are a basketball junkie, tune in. Right now, West Liberty is repressing West Virginia is the best way possible.
Enjoy!

WolfRobParticipantThey always flame out in the elite 8, I’m surprised they made it this far… I’m unfamiliar with the mizzouri team they are playing, but every year West Liberity sits a top the D2 rankings, because they play nobody and usually go undefeated, then they have to play someone and get bounced… They beat Drury but I don’t think that team is nearly as talented as last year… SC Aiken was a good win, their opponent seems for the championship game really seems to be firing on all cylinders right now though, coming off a huge win over Metro State, who I thought was the favorite to win it all…
all that being said, Crutchfield is a phenomenal coach, I just don’t think his boys play anyone all year….

evantomesParticipantYeah their conference isn’t great and they beat up on teams bad during the season but don’t have the success in the post season they hope. Can’t argue with how far they came this year though. I don’t think Drury or WL is as talented as they were last year.

evantomesParticipantI would like to see them play the University of Southern Indiana sometime. USI always has a weak nonconference schedule. The only way they would meet is if they played each other in the elite 8 or further, and USI flops every year in the tourney so I doubt that will happen.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantYoure right about their schedule. Their conference is weak. Usually, when they win, they do it in dramatic fashion. I watched them beat "good" conference teams by 30 like it was easy. They play a fast style that usually wears on people.
From om what i know about they team, they get bounced when they have to play teams that have D1 transfers. West Liberty has no transfers in. They stick with the guys they recruit.
Being a WVU fan, it has been nice to look down at WL and see good stuff happening.

WolfRobParticipantJust seeing them first hand last year, I wasn’t impressed. They are an incredibly arrogant bunch, fans especially. They rolled their first round match up and it really went to their heads. They then ran into Metro State and it was comical to see how they handled their press. It wasn’t a problem. They just broke it for buckets until West Liberity adjusted.
I have a lot of respected for teams like southern Indiana and Drury.. They’re battle tested all year. West Liberty basically gets a free pass to the dance. The system is flawed. Last year I thought my team had the best team in Divison 2, and just to get to the elite 8 we had to go through two schools ranked in the top 5 in our region. SPU was ranked 2nd and Pomona was 4th. Drury eventually knocked us off in the final 4 and went on to win the whole thing but it’s tough to beat a team of that caliber twice… We beat them in Vegas earlier in the year and they were hell bent on revenge.
That being said, west liberity going to the elite 8 so many consecutive times has maybe tested them… Maybe they are ready to break through.

evantomesParticipantIt’s been a good game so far. Better crowd than an Evansville Ace’s game for sure.
