RUDEBOY_ParticipantThe Commercial Appeal is Reporting that Memphis jr. forward Wesley Witherspoon will be out 5 weeks after having surgery for a Meniscal Tear on his knee…Witherspoon suffered the injury in Memphis 94-79 win over Northwestern State on November 17 but continued to play..Witherspoon had been limited in practice the past 2 weeks..But Tiger’s Coach Josh Pastner said it got to the point where it was begining to really bother him..So his family and my staff agreed it was time to go ahead with the surgery and hopefully he’ll be back by Jan 5 against Marshall…
Fox Sports Writer Jeff Goodman had to put his 2 cents in,Goodman said,” Witherspoon wasn’t a leader, was a stubborn & immature player and his absence will allow the freshmen to become leaders”…

HaleParticipantThat sucks. Witherspoon is their best player, I don’t want another NIT bid.
