BlakesanityParticipantThere’s no need anymore to talk about David Kahn and his bad draft decisions …
But I took a closer look on one of his wasted lottery-picks’ stats (Wes Johnson) and was positively suprised. Wes is averaging almost 9 points and started in 37 games. In addition to that, his shooting numbers look solid (no question that he benifits from Kobes injury though).
I haven’t watched him in a while, so I want to ask: Did he made any significant improvements, or is he still just an athletic swingman?
His 1.5 assists in 28 minutes per game make me feel like this … -.-

RUDEBOY_ParticipantHe averaging 17 pts a game this month, thats due to increased minutes and playing in Mike D’Antonio’s system….Which has helped made alot of players look good…
I Never understood why people were so high on him during the draft…Besides being very athletic and a good shooter,he had no other skills……And once he left Syracuse he 4got 2 bring his outstanding shooting ability to the pros with him..He shot 39% fg in 2 seasons with the T Wolves,40% last year in Phoenix and 42 fg% this season…..I still don’t see much improvement in his game….

KingoftheOceanCourtParticipantIn response to why people were high on him during the draft:
I seem to remember his defensive stats being a big selling point; he averaged a nice combination of steals and blocks while at Syracuse, so I think there was a bit of hope around him being a great defender.

llperezhes having a real nice stretch, but overall on the year, he is just okay. One of the few lakers that I really dont care if they bring him back or not. My biggest gripe with him is how soft he is offensivly. He pump fakes guys then has a wide open path but still settles for the jumper. Blows finger roll layups when he could easily dunk. His feet set shooting isnt bad but the secind he tries to shoot off the dribble its not pretty.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantThis D’Antoni offense really suits him. He’s a face-paced type of player so, naturally, playing in a fast-paced offense is perfect for him. It’s not that he made major improvements, aside from the fact that his 3pt shooting is more consistent, but his success is really because of his play-style in combination with the offensive-pace that the Lakers play with.

vulture711ParticipantEspecially former 1st rounders – just need a chance to play. Ask Tony Wroten, Kendall Marshall and lo and behold, maybe even Anthony Bennett !
