WizardofOzParticipantIf the Wizards were to get the #1 pick and get John Wall, what do you think they should do with Gilbert Arenas?

kurtu17Participantwell they cant trade Arenas cuz he really hurt his value in this incident…and his contract is huge….they would have to play with both…but Wall would be the point guard and Arenas would have to make way cuz this team would not be his anymore…it would be Walls and Blatch if he can continue his pace..and whomever they can sign in free agency….
if they get Wall they would be the Thunder in the East….Loads of talent0 - Posted on: Sun, 02/28/2010 - 2:37pm #261409

butidonthavemoneyThey are trying to move Arenas anyway. His off-court issues and gargantuan contract aren’t making it easy for the Wiz.

jojososaParticipantActually they could take wall and let him play tha point n move gil to tha 2 bcuz if u think about it he is not really a tru point neway he is a 2 n a pg’s body. Just let him play until that ugly contract plays out

quinceyhodgeshey would move gil to the 2 but the team would still be his. i know ya’ll liek wall and i liek him too but he will not be better then gilbert ( even this past years gilbert) next year

kurtu17Participanti think Gil can make that adjusment to the two guard pretty easily, especially if he can score more efficiently…it think Gil 3.0, Wall, and Blatch would do great in the East

quinceyhodgesi agree he would make that transition pretty easily. they stillwouldnt be a playoff team though

the I in winParticipantwell unlike tyreke, arenas can be moved off the ball and still be effective. sure arenas would throw a fit but he is in no position to argue with the team.

quinceyhodgesplus im sure gilbert would make sure he still gets his touches, shots and the ball at the end of games. wall wouldnt mind since he knows he will be a rookie and still learning

JNixonParticipantThey need to be patient. An Agent 0, John Wall, Blatche, McGee and Josh Howard/Al Thornton lineup would be good if they had swingman off the bench with good size and defensive ability. They probably know that they are 2 years away from being a playoff team. They just need to continue to develop their promising young guys and be patient. They aren’t going to be a playoff team overnight. They’re too young and a few teams will emerge and make hay with their free agents in the 2010 class in the East more than likely.

YurpleHazEParticipanttheres a new ownership group coming threw so who knows what can happen…

IndianaBasketballParticipantThey’re stuck with Gilbert Arenas for the forseeable future.
I’d actually like a Wall/Arenas backcourt. I think Wall would be best served going into a situation where he doesn’t have all of the pressure on him.

quinceyhodgesif ya’ll wonder what a back court of wall and gilbert would look like i say take a look at gs minus the great shooting of step but add in the possible better passing of wall

IndianaBasketballParticipantI think Wall/Arenas would be much better defensively though.

quinceyhodgesmuch better definisvley would be a understatement

JNixonParticipantI do too. I think Wall is a good compliment to Arenas on the defensive side of the ball, because Wall will be a top notch defender in the NBA as he gets experience. He also is a nice compliment slashing to the rim to let Arenas take jumpers without stopping the flow of the offense.

kurtu17ParticipantWhy would you think there not a play off team…i know they wouldnt get to the second round with that lineup but they still would be in the play offs…..

quinceyhodgeswho would they make the playoffs over?..yeah the young kid down low can score but he cant stop anyone. gilbert isnt gonna be stop any sg. wall will be a rookie having to guard rose, rondo, jamer. what team would they knock out of the playoffs?..they wouldnt be better then toranto, orlando, chi, miami, the bucks, bobcats, hawks etc. the three that they would have wouldnt be better then the gilbert, butler, jamison three.
