Always saw something like this coming with Salary Cap and how much players make. Lots of the stars in the Nba have already had 100 million dollar contracts and make 10’s to 100’s of millions in sponsors and shoe deals. Always thought nothing could stop in free agency if lets say Lebon, Kawhi, Cp3, Anthony Davis, and James Harden from all taking 10-15 million dollar deals and joining a team that opens up 70 million in cap room. The Nba now cant techincally do anything I believe in vetoing free agency telling a player where he can and cant sign. they can only veto trades. So  a solution should definetly be looked at by the Nba because having 5 All Stars on a team is kind of comical and ridiculous to other teams in the league

Yep, I’ve been ranting about this since lebron Bosh and wade took pay cuts to usher in the current super-team era. One team does it, other guys decide the only way to compete is making their own super team, then there’s an arms war between 2 or 3 teams and the rest of the league is a punching bag that only gets talent through the draft and loses it again before they hit their prime. NBA isn’t going to fix anything and nbapa wouldn’t let them anyways. I think there’s a growing number of fans that actually like it, they just want to see a finals with all the all-stars duking it out.

The problem isn’t the cap, it’s the max contract. Jordan was making 40m a year back in the late 90s. If it wasn’t for the max contract no team would be able to afford both Curry and Durant, let along all the rest.

Pretty sure the Nba narrative is now The Warriors/Monstars (bad guys) vs Lebron and the Toon squad Lakers (good guys). Space Jam 2 live from Hollywood, California

to institute some sort of multi-bid system for players where no one is allowed to take less than the average of what every team would pay to have them on their team if they have the cap room to do it. They need something to regulate the ‘market rate’ for players if they want to retain any shred of competitive balance.  If every other team in the league says you are a max player and can afford it, then you have to pick a team that pays you the max.
