According to HoopsHype, the Warriors believe they have found 2 teams willing to take on Bogut, Biedrens, and Jefferson contracts, giving the Warriors the necessary cap space to offer Dwight a max deal. Im looking around for any truth to this, but do not see anything. Has anyone else heard this?

If true- A Curry-Thompson-Barnes-Lee-Howard lineup will be fun to watch.

Im guessing the Hawks are one of the teams. Probably taking Biedrens and Jefferson along with future pick(s). They get two positions of need, yet still get to be terrible next year. Im not sure of what other teams now has space to absorb Bogut’s contract.

Looks like Utah for Bogut. Not surprised as I think Favors is ready for an increase in minutes, but not ready to start just as yet on a playoffs contender.

Kanter is their center…Favors is their PF of the future. I think now is the time to start both these guys…you have a rookie PG so time to let the young guys play..why would you want Boguts contract just for some picks in the 20’s?

If Bogut goes to Utah I wouldnt be surprised with Philly taking Biedrins and Jefferson. They have cap room, they are going to tank so Jefferson and Biedrins expiring contracts are great fits. Especially if GSW will add a 1round pick.

Why would you pay two crappy players a combined 20 million for a year just for a pick in the 20’s…especially when you should already have two lotto picks next year and will be way under the cap anyway without taking on these expiring contracts?

Makes Zero sense and from the direction the new GM has gone so far…he is way too smart to make a dumb move like this. Unless they can get Barnes or somebody with potential to move forward with this would be idiotic.

I don’t think the Warriors will have a problem finding a taker for Bogut, but Biedrins and Jefferson are a completely different story. Seems like the Warriors are leaking that info to make the Lakers want to do a sign and trade than risking losing Howard for nothing. If the Warriors get Howard then that 1st round pick is likely to be in the 25+ range so that is basically paying 9million apiece or so for a late 1st rounder. I like what the OP said about the Hawks though. Gives them some players for this upcoming year with some future 1st rounders and still allows them to be horrible enough to grab a nice lottery pick next year. Interesting idea for the Hawks because that money has to be spent somewhere and you have to have players on the roster.

If only GS could then find the right 3 team deal to get Iggy there while moving David Lee+.

Iggy is the perfect fit in GS with those sweet shooters, none of which are designed to be a primary ball handler.

If they got Dwight, that wouldn’t be a problem.

My general point was that GS doesn’t have a pure PG, and a guy like Iggy is more of a playmake/distributor than a scoring wing anyway.

If I was Dwight Howard, I would go to GS.
Dwight Howard and three point shooters have a mutual relationships.
Dwight shrinks the defense and gets shooters good looks while shooters stretch the floor.
They go like bread n butter.

I still think Houston is the best fit for him but Golden State would be another good fit.

The issue with the starting lineup you gave the Warriors, is that in order to get a team to take those bad contracts they will have to give up some talent. Don’t expect them to get Howard AND keep Thompson and Barnes. . .

I don’t see how they could do it either…unless they make some kind of magic trade to get rid of the 20 million they owe Biedrins and RJ this still seems like a longshot to me.

Don’t know why, but I think the Sixers might be in on this. If they could get someone to take Jason Richardson’s contract + get an unprotected pick in 2014 (which if GS makes this deal and gets Howard, I think they’d be willing to give up since it’s a late pick anyway) they will do it and GS would be desperate enough to do both if it meant signing Dwight Howard.

Now that would make a little bit of sense considering JRich is due 12 million over the next two years…another great aspect of the Bynum trade biting the Sixers in the butt.

I’ve heard the Kings are in this as well. Barnes and a bad contract. Kings can amnesty Salmons and may be willing to take on a bad contract to fill their SF hole.
