Hakim Warrick, an athletic 6-foot-9 forward who played the past four seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies, has reached agreement with the Bucks on a one-year deal, sources indicated Friday.

The former Syracuse star joins Amir Johnson and Ersan Ilyasova at the power forward position. The Bucks also have second-year players Joe Alexander and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, who can play both forward spots.

The Bucks also are expected to complete a trade with Denver, one first reported last week. Milwaukee will send veteran power forward Malik Allen to the Nuggets in exchange for guard Sonny Weems and forward Walter Sharpe.

The trade is primarily to clear a roster spot and should result in a savings of about $500,000 for the Bucks.

Warrick will do well with the Buck and now Alexander can grow more on the bench

Not a bad move. Gives the Bucks a strong rotation at PF. If they do a S&T with the Knicks, you can add another pieces.

I kind of like this trade because now Joe Alexander can start at the SF with Mbah a Moute backing up the PF/SF positions. Warrick is a great athlete and can fight for the starting PF spot. Dont be suprised if he doesnt start right now. Skiles is a hardass and wont just give spots away.

Why would the bucks try to get Walter Sharpe… they would have 3 RAW athletics PFs

Not saying its a bad thing cause I’m rooting for any one of those 3, they have so much potential…

The best Power Forward on their roster is by far Amir Johnson. He’ll easily out perform Warrick for the starting spot, but because Scott Skiles is the Worst coach in the NBA he will have Warrick start over him.

Seriously? Skiles is far from one of the worst coaches. He’s probably one of the better coaches in the league. I agree that he’s a hard ass, but I think he makes sure that he is running the show and not the players. Too many NBA players are babies and cannot handle that, especially when they get some money. One of the best coaches in the league (Jerry Sloan) is similiar to him, but he was also blessed with more talented players over the years.

By the way Illyasova will probably be starting. He’s better than Amir Johnson. For those of you that vaguely remember him or haven’t seen him in awhile, just wait and see. Not saying he’s great, but he’s better than him. I also think that Warrick is underrated. He’ll be a nice addition. I think he has improved a lot since he was first drafted.

To tell me scott skiles is a great coach is a joke in itself. What team has their best player come off the bench with Ben Gordan? Not to mention last years saga of having luke ridnour steal the bulk of starts and majority of minutes away from Ramon Sessions.

The way I think when I’m putting a squad out on the floor is my best 5 can take on your best 5. Plain and simple. I do not support the argument of bringing in a highly caliber player off the bench unless theirs a viable better option starting in front of him.

Take LA for example. Lamar Odom should have started all year for this team. I don’t agree at all with having a player of his caliber come off the bench.

Back to the Amir Johnson debate, dude’s got some serious game DHamp. Warrick will forever be a career role player in this league and only wishes he could lick the talent off of Amir Johnsons ball sack. Get serious dude. Johnson is loaded with potential and was blocked by some serious talent in Rasheed Wallace, and Antonio Mcdyess. To think Warrick is going to get in his way? Please it’s not happening. As much as I love this guys game I can’t touch him this year. I refuse to own any player in a Scott Skiles, Don Nelson, and the Late Terry Porter system. Any player on these rosters are doomed for a fantasy nightmare.
