KingslayerParticipantAccording to John Canzano, a columnist for the Oregonian, Wade and Bosh have agreed to contracts at significant discounts to their market values. The total amount of the deals was not revealed, but he tweeted that Bosh’s is for 5 years and Wade’s 4, with their first year salaries being $11 and $12 million, respectively. More details are sure to follow if this report proves to be true.Assuming normal contract escalation, that would put Bosh in the neighbourhood of 5 yrs/60 million, and Wade at about 4 yrs/50 million. Each player would be leaving over 20 million on the table over the next 2 years. Wade and especially Bosh could receive much more per season over the same period in the open market. It would be a sacrifice comparable to Duncan, Parker and Ginobili taking pay cuts to field the best possible team for the past several years.0 - Posted on: Tue, 07/01/2014 - 9:59am #930658

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantWhys is the Oregonian first to report this…weird.
ive been hearing rumors Lebrun wants Bledsoe on the heat. What are the chances the suns don’t match? They are pretty set at the point guard position..I assume they need to let someone go.

CanadianGMParticipantI don’t see Wade getting much more than that on the open market. By the 3rd and fourth year of that contract I see comparable role to what Ray Allen brought them last year and coming off the bench 60 games a year as a sixth man. If true, the Heat have many candidates that have played for the minimum or will in the future.
Veteran Minimum candidates- 500 k cap hold ( Ray Allen, Chris Andersen, Michael Beasley, Mario Chalmers, Jameer Nelson, Vince Carter, Shawn Marion, Greg Oden, Rashard Lewis, Toney Douglas, James Jones,Haslem )they receive upwards of 1.5 million for veterans in the league more than 10 years but cost only the minimum against cap
Mid Level Candidates ( Andre Blatche, Jordan Hill, Ed Davis,)
S Napier has 1.06 million cap hold and they should open up a role for him by trading Norris Coles 2.1 million for future picks. This gives them James @ 22 million( still a bargain), Bosh @ 11m,Wade @ 12m,Napier @1.06, 7 of veteran minimum 13 candidates = 3.5 million. This leaves about 50 million spent and can still offer 13 million for one big addition or split into two smaller additions. Although I’m sure they will give Haslem a bigger contract for his past sacrifice or make him highest paid assistant coach once he is done playing.

Ghost01ParticipantThis isn’t happening. Ethan Skolnick, and many other media sources have said these are mostly bogus claims. Bosh and Wade will get more than this, their agent even laughed at it.

nick5354ParticipantThis is false I think. I heard they want more then this. Wade is only going to get 14-15 mil because of his name, at his age and physical state, he is not worth even 10 mil.

otdogg1ParticipantDwade is definitely worth 15 mill. he averaged 19 4 and 4 and shot well over 50 percent from the field. any team with room would love to have him at the price tag

nick5354ParticipantWade missed 1/3 of the season. You don’t pay a guy to play 1/3 of a season because you are scared he is going to get injured and neeed him for the post season. And when you miss that much games all for the playoffs, he needs to be great, which he wasn’t. And not to mention he will be a year older.

IndianaBasketballParticipantThe Heat aren’t going to have as much cap flexibility as people think. Lowry is about to get a huge payday… The biggest of his life… Why in the hell would he take such a significant paycut to go to Miami and be turned into LBJ’s Mo Williams?
