I’d like to see the Knicks also squeeze a draft pick or Steph Curry out of the Warriors with this trade.

The warriors make out because they get Lee and a proven solid young NBA starter at Sf, one of their weaker positions. Lee would fit well next to Biedrins. Jeffries would be a good defender to bring off the bench.

The Knicks make out with a good young PF that can run the floor and have boatloads of potential in Randolph. They also shed Jeffries contract.

I only made this trade assuming that Walsh is not willing to re-sign Lee for however much money he is asking for. If the Knicks signed lebron this offseason Chandler looks to be the odd man out.

I suggested this trade because we’d have more cap space and I think that we’re going to lose Lee for nothing in free agency. I dont think tht Golden State would be willing to give up their lottery pick but it is a possibility since they add 2 good young starters without losing much from their rotation. That would also put us back in the John Wall sweepstakes. If not this year’s first rounder then maybe next years.

ur crazy if u think the Warriors give up Randolph for Lee and Jeffries. And there is no way they can “squeeze” out Stephen Curry. The Knicks don’t really have any players that teams are interested in

i dont really know cause warriors have plans with randolph( i mean this guy has enourmous potential and he didnt even realize 50 % of that potential) and i dont know if knicks should trade lee hes one of the elite big mans in nba they just need to find compromise with him

Henry 25 – you forgot about Chandler who is a very solid starter who is still very young.

Randolph does have alot of potential but he hasnt been used much in Golden State.

i think the knicks are giving up to much. if they could keep wilson chandler i would do it. randolph is all potential. david lee is a stud. no way the warriors pass up on that trade

We’d have to give Golden State a piece that they’d have guaranteed after this season. As I said earlier, I’m doing this trade based on the assumption that we arent going to sign Lee in the offseason.

If the pick isn’t top 5 then i think they could get a pick. It’s hard to guage how high the Warriors are on Randolph because they have tried to trade him a few times. Wilson Chandler is nice, he just started this season slow.

top 5 lottery protected pick maybe gets it done.
If not hard to see the Knicks giving up 2 chips and not getting a PG back.
This isn’t going to help them sign Lebron either.
Chandler can always be a great 6th man for the Knicks off the bench with Gallo and Lebron starting.

NYK 2010. This trade gets rid of Jeffries contract which would allow the Knicks to sign 2 big name free agents. I would alos like a PG but they are few and far between right now.

i dont see it Chandlers decent and Jeffries isnt worth his contract at all and i doubt Lee would resign with them and i doubt they would give up Randolph who played well when healthy and has a pretty cheap contract.

This is an awful trade for the Knicks.
David Lee is an All Star putting up 19.5, 11 and 4 assists per game. Wilson Chandler is going to be a great player, he is 22 years old and since dec.1 he is averaging 17 and 6 while shooting 52%. Meanwhile, Randolph is absolutely nothing but hype and is already out for the season with an injury. He is skinny and brittle while Chandler is explosive, athletic and can guard almost anyone on the court. Warriors are also not players in 2010 free agency so Jeffries contract would not hurt them and actually he would help their pathetic defense out a lot. This would be a HUGE STEAL for the warriors.

Mario Chalmers and Jose Canderon are probably the two best point guards the Knicks can get without getting much and i think both would be pretty big upgrades over Duhon.

yeah but you have to realize its unlikely Lee would resign with them. and Randolph is good yeah hes skinny but hes good.

Yeah I designed this trade in favor of the Warriors in hopes of getting back Steph Curry or a first rounder. It makes sense to me all the way around especially if Walsh isnt willing to pay Lee this summer.

I’m guessing it would be a sign and trade situation where Lee stays in GS, proven good players like Lee and Chandler just for a kid who has played well in summer league and in like 4 games in the NBA is absurd. He also apparently has character issues which is why the warriors were listening to offers. Character issues for someone who has just started playing in the league and is all potential is not something id give up an all star and a very good young talent for.

Birdzilla- We wouldnt do it for a sign and trade. We would have to get a hell of alot more back in that case. As it stands now we get a potential player who is injured, two benchwarmers and a draft pick. We give up an all-star and a very good young player plus an extremely long defensive stopper.

well if u watch knick games you know how good chandler can be in a year or two and would not consider him just a throw in. He alone might have a better career than Randolph.

yep but dont forget getting rid of Jeffries huge contracts hurts their chances of resigning Lee and dont underestimate the value of those two expiring deals.

Chandler is not a throw in. The deal is basically Randolph for Chandler then Lee and Jeffries for 2 expiring contracts. Both deals favor the warriors so the Knicks should be able to get a first rounder or Steph Curry in the deal. I like Chandler but I think he can be replaced. There are players like him in the draft every year. I dont see him as ever being able to make an all-star team while i see that as a possibilty for Randolph.

If this deal was done then the Knicks would only have about 17 million + Steph Curry’s or a first rounder’s contract on the books for next year. That would leave around 40 million under the projected 57.7 million salary cap next season.

haha without curry involved the warriors get a steal, but with curry the knicks are the ones getting the steal. Theres no middle ground in that deal. maybe Lee, Chandler, Hill, Jeffries for Randolph, Claxton, Curry, Bell but that just makes the trade way too complicated for it to ever happen.
