UNCbasketballbumParticipantI love the move for my Rams. In the CAA, a pretty weak conference, you usually have to win the conference tournament to get in. Drexel, the CAA regular season champion and runner up to VCU in the tournament final, was an NCAA snub. I feel they should’ve gotten in because they had a 26 or 27 game win streak at some point during the season and were a very good team. VCU can improve it’s RPI and strength of schedule playing Xavier, St. Joe’s and Temple instead of Delaware and Georgia State in the CAA.

Wahoo757ParticipantCAA is weak? They were the best mid major conference in basketball the last decade with VCU, Geore Mason, ODU, Drexel, etc… Moving to the A-10 isn’t much of an improvement. This was a profit driven move not one that was made to increase their competition.

UNCbasketballbumParticipantXavier and Temple? Xavier has always been strong and were top ten last year before their collapse. Temple has been good recently and beat Duke at home last year. St. Joe’s is good, they had Delonte West and Jameer Nelson back in 2004. I take back saying the CAA is a weak conference, they’re not at all, but they are a one bid league. The Atlantic 10 is a multiple bid league.
