European BasketballerParticipantThis is an update on Greek player Vasileios Charalampopoulos that I have been talking about here for a long time. The same player that forum member pohani komarac has claimed here "isn’t even good enough to become a professional player at the senior men’s club level"………
Anyway, as I have been saying here for a long time, he is considered to be one of the best players in Europe in his age class ’97 (and this is considered by many to be the best age class in the history of Europe), and many consider him even possibly to be the best of these players maybe.
He is a 6-8 235 SF and he can also play in PF position. He is 17 years old. In the last season, in which he would be like a high school junior if he was American, he played in his first Euroleague game with the big Greek Euroleague club Panathinaikos. He is their 3rd string small forward, but he is in the senior team in the practice squad and he also plays some every once in awhile with the senior men’s team in the Greek League games.
Anyway, I have been updating about him here for a long time, since he was like 14 years old…and now I will give another update, since he will be playing this summer in qualifer for world under 19 tournament and also in world under 17 tournament and against USA in group stage.
Here is some YouTube clips of him I have not posted yet here:

Mr. HookShotParticipantThanks for the update. If you are part of the first team of a Euroleague club at the age of 17, you definitely have something special (considering Giannis played 2nd division over there!).
That’s one of the biggest differences with the US, where young players play players their own age until they make the leap to the NBA, where in Europe you have players this young already competing against grown man. Say what you want but in this way he really has to push himself hard every day to compete against grown men, seasoned professionals. Curious to see what he can do against his equals in age during both events; especially curious if he can keep up with the athletisism some of these US players tend to bring.

Captain LParticipantThe dunking was pretty plain and simple but he is only 17, the thing that caught my eye was that his shooting motion reminds me of Chris Mullens and Mullens was one of the best shooters the NBA has had. He has good size and hopefully he continues to develop.
