WarblingSpamalopeParticipantI was thinking about how the Timberwolves could jump back into the draft to either stop the slide of Mudiay(Kings @ #6) or WCS(#8 or later). I don’t hate Rubio, but if the Kings are trying to get into the playoffs the temptation to add another elite athlete is too much. I’m assuming a package for the Kings would start with Rubio and Dieng. I like the idea of pairing WCS and Towns again in the league to try to change the Timberwolves defense at the rim and overall defense. I’m curious what people think would be fair packages for either pick.
Here are your assets to make it simple. Rubio, Dieng, Muhammed(really don’t want to deal him), Budinger, Bennett, Bjelica, Payne, pick 31, and pick 36. I think the Wolves really want to keep Lavine to see whether he can turn potential into production.(Not at point guard)

Mad MaxParticipantNobody is going to take scrap metal for a top 10 pick, especially with someone as physically promising as Mudiay. If you want another top 10 pick Lavine will have to be part of any deal

FrozetoesParticipantHe said that he really doesn’t have the assets to get back into the upper part of the draft.
I know that he has the assets, he’s just not going to use them for the players available.
I think Flip wants to hold on to Rubio, at least until his trade value is some what equal to his talent.
All the talk is about trading Bennett and Bjelica, who I don’t think gets you to WCS.
We will see what happens, it will be fun to watch.

SantaTheClauseParticipantTimberwolves Receive: Derrick Williams, Pick #6
Kings Receive: Kevin Martin, Anthony Bennett, pick #31, pick #35, future 2nd round pick.
*Note Kings use Jason Terry trade exception to make trade work financially.
Just a thought, don’t really think the kings would do this unless they get back a future 1st rounder or a third teams is thrown in and somehow gets them a 1st rounder this year.
Why Timberwolves would maybe do this: Top 10 pick, add Mudiay, Winslow, Hezonja.
Why Kings would maybe do this: Get back consistent SG, Big Gamble on former #1 pick, picks #31 and #35 offer good value with non guaranteed contracts and they can steal a couple of good players. i.e. (maybe Rozier, Wright, Alexander, or another 1st round talent that slips)
Overall Would be awesome for Wolves, but doubt the kings would do it without some 1st rounder back.

220ParticipantI think you are overvaluing Kevin Martin and Anthony Bennett. The rumor was the Kings rejected a deal that involved Ty Lawson for the sixth pick. If Lawson isn’t enough to get it done Martin, Bennett, and some second round picks are likely inadequate as well.
