giddyup123ParticipantI know we still have a year left but its fun to speculate about creating a squad with such a great talent pool. Who does everyone have? I’ve got:
Guards: Stephen Curry*, James Harden*, Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook
Wings: Lebron*, Kevin Durant*, Carmelo Anthony, Kawhi Leonard, Klay Thompson
Bigs: Anthony Davis*, Demarcus Cousins, Blake Griffin
I’ve thought mostly about producing the best team, but also about continuity/fit, and the future. Remember the USA plays small, quick, with 3 point shooters.. that is the reason for my "lack" of true bigs. *starters
Just to settle a few qualms off the bat. I think Kyrie will likely make it over Carmelo when its all said and done but I don’t think his defense or ability to play off other guys warrants a spot. Paul George: I know, I know, he "should" make it because of what happened – and I wouldn’t be at all mad if he did – but I think that Kawhi’s a better defender and Klay Thompson, shooter. AND they’re each more comfortable off the ball then PG. I know Kobe says he wants to play, but I believe when the time comes, he holds off for another nba season (this is also me saying I don’t want to have to think about another awkward decision Coach K and Jerry Colangelo will have to make)
Quite frankly, unless you’ve got guys like Plumlee or MCW making it, itd be pretty hard to argue one way or another.

canadabasketballisrisingParticipantThe only one thing is I would probably have PG, if he’s back to 2013 PG over Thompson. But it’s not like I disagree that much with Thompson, as he is a better shooter, and shooting is key in FIBA. It is quite close. Some people have Wall or Iriving in that spot.
I think that 95% of people who know NBA Basketball would agree with the same 10 players on any roster (which you have) with only Thompson and Griffin being the spots their will be argument with.
I agree with Griffin; but for the third big, I would want rim protection outside of Davis, and that has me leaning to Dwight or Jordan (if he’s healthy) but Blake is all around a better player (obviously) so I’m not really sold on Dwight either.

RecoveringVegetarianParticipantHey Now!! I’m predicting!!!! that If Kobe is healthy.. Coach K will give him a spot on that team thats for sure..A lot of folks might not like that.. But who cares? He’s earn it.. If he is at full strength even at age 36 he is still a top 10 player in this league!!!!!!!
