BajeebzParticipantI was surfing hoopshype.com, and came across a cool article about the upcoming draft.
http://www.basketballinsiders.com/nba-saturday-scouts-take-on-2014-draft/
In this Alex Kennedy piece, and unnamed scout shares his thought on Wiggins, Parker, Randle, Smart, Vonleh, Embiid, and Exum. There are lots of good quotes, but perhaps none more interesting than this:
“I have seen him play live a limited number of times, but I have to say that he’s really intriguing. He has a legitimate chance to go No. 1 in this draft. He’s that good. His upside is enormous. I won’t be surprised if he goes No. 1 on draft night. If we land the No. 1 pick, he’s a guy who we’re seriously going to look at.”
–Regarding Dante Exum
Thoughts?

MopgrassParticipantIt sounds like there are people on here who know as much as this scout. There’s nothing I haven’t read on here.

BajeebzParticipantYou’re right. Some of it is a bit redundant. Except for the Dante Exum comments. There’s been some recent skepticism, and he’s down to 7th on the latest Mock. Maybe the scout knows less about basketball then the average forum poster; I don’t know. I just think it’s interesting that there’s a person getting paid to evaluate prospects who thinks Exum talented enough to take him number one in a top-heavy draft. It’s made more interesting because there’s an aura of mystery surrounding Exum. It’s likely to remain this way, because we most likely won’t have any news on him until the combine results come in.

GoJOSH HUESTISParticipantAlso a chance that the writer is just stating his opinion while saying "a unnamed scout". I’ve been hearing that’s becoming more common in the sports world

IhateusernamesParticipantExum did good work against the USA 19U team especially against Aaron Harrison. Looks like a quicker Brandon Roy to me. I’d definitely spend a top 5 pick on that.

Rip255He did say he’s seen him live a few times, and by saying that "we’re" considering taking him #1 gives me the impression he’s a legit NBA scout.
I think Exum has the potential to be the best player in this draft, but I’d still go with Wiggins #1
