valentinei was listening to a john hollinger pod cast and he said nba teams have told him d.orton and e.udoh have looked bad in workouts
He said orton looks slow and not as athletic as some thought and that his knee seems to be a bigger issue then people think. He said he was told orton will need knee surgery yet again in the very near future
He said the word on udoh is that he is more raw then teams thought and he has a low basketball iq and below average moves. now all of this needs to be taken with a grain of salt because its only workouts and not 5 on 5. but there should be a big concern with orton because he has already has one or two knee surgery’s on top of being unproven and shorter then people thought
on the flip side John said nba teams loved how bradley looks in workouts and is getting some comparisions to russell westbrook. Another player getting praise is paul george who is said to be more athletic then they thought with a high basketball iq yet still has room for improvement

Raef LaFrentzParticipantI totally agree with what he said about Paul George. Before seeing him under such a microscope I had thought that he was merely a jumpshooter with above average athleticism. Now, however, it seems like he has a decent handle on the ball which allows him to showcase his tremendous athletic ability by finishing at the rim with some very impressive dunks. Not to mention his better-than-advertised pull up jumper. I’m very impressed with George in his workouts.

Raef LaFrentzParticipantOn a side note, I came away from Jarvis Varnado’s workout kind of confused. In all of the games that I saw this guy play in I don’t think I EVER saw him take a single jump shot, so it was a surprise to see that he actually had decent form and an improving feel for shooting 15 foot jumpers. Another thing that stood out to me is this kid’s rawness, for lack of a better word. His ball-handling left a lot to be desired when in face-up and post-up situations. While Jarvis is decently athletic and has some long arms, he is very mechanical in his movements and still needs to put on some weight to be a consistent factor on the defensive end.
One last thing: Jerome Jordan was working out at the same time as Varnado and he seems like a guy who could help a team. He’d be a very solid back-up center. Jordan looked very nimble for a legit seven-footer, and he’s more athletic than he looks. Not a bad pick for a team who is looking for a big man early to mid-way through the second round.

cycloParticipantI wasn’t impressed with Udoh’s ability in the footage I’ve seen of him. I’m not convinced his college game will translate to the NBA.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Larry Sanders turns out to be the better NBA player. Sanders measured over 6’9″ without shoes, close to 6’11” with shoes and has a 7’5″ wingspan. Not to mention a wonderful attitude. Humble. Happy. Grateful. Great interview.

Raef LaFrentzParticipantI completely agree. This kid really has a good head on his shoulders, and with that being said I can see him becoming a better pro than Udoh.
Note: I have never been very impressed with Udoh. The only thing I find enticing about him is his timing on the defensive end of the floor.

lalailaParticipantIDK actually i have heard Udoh impresses almost in every workout with his motor energy and shot-blocking ability..
what’s more..hmm…Henry impressed GSW and a couple other teams looks he is top10 now and locked for lottery..
Aminu isn’t need for pistonts but they see him as a talent you can’t pass on..
also i heard Eric Bledsoe’s stock is falling little bit..Do you know guys why Ed Davis wasn’t in any workout or maybe i haven’t heard it?

richgatesParticipantYeah I am curious about Ed Davis as well. He is a complete mystery. He has been listed as the Jazz’s pick on a number of draft sites, and yet they don’t seem to talk about him and he hasn’t been in for a workout yet.
