Every year there is a player(s) that slipped under the recruiting radar and stands out despite not being very highly touted such as:

2008:Tyshawn Taylor, Kim English,

Who is the sleeper prospect that you’re willing to make a bold prediction about, and you can see having a big impact in the 2009-2010 season and beyond as a prospect?

Oh, and my 2 guys are Kenny Hall (Tennessee) and McGruder.

Hall is a player that’s local to me and I know he’s a good rebounder and he has a very nice inside-outside game and the frame to really impose his will as he gets bigger and stronger. He’s long and fluid, and will be a instant contributor on both sides of the ball, but will show great flashes on offense.

And McGruder (Kansas State) gives us a good shooter and slasher with the ability to get to the FT line. He is a good looking player on the break, and with the fast pace offense we run and the screen and roll we run in the half-court, he will provide alot of offense for us. Look out for him this year.

Not exactly under the radar, but i think Avery Bradley is going to be huge in college, and i think he’ll be a great pro also

Under the radar, im going to say Abdul Gaddy, i really like his game..surprise he doesnt get discussed more often..i think he can be great

Oh ok, well in that case i’ll agree with you on Rodney, he can develop into a solid wing player, has good speed, if he can develop his shot to be more consistant he’ll definetly be one of “those” prospects

well a lot of those guys dramatically improved there games by lots off effort like Pittman losing 100+ pounds. but for me i think its Eric Bledsoe he will be a really good player once Wall leaves probably his freshman year and until then will be one of the best backups in college basketball.

Noone on this site really brought up Keala King. He signed to ASU last week. I think he can have a great impact in 2010 and can be a lotto pick in 2011.

Alot of people know Lance Stephenson but i think he going to prove his critics wrong and have a big freshman year he is an elite score he’s not athletic but he can get the job done.

Talor Battle started to shine late in the year and lead Penn State to the NIT championship. i think he will keep improving this year and could be a serviceable pro in the future

Don’t be suprised if he starts a game or two at PG or SG during the season.

Thats what I’m thinking but he is more of a scorer(which isn’t bad). But if he can improve his passing and jumpshot, he could be a late-lottery or a mid-first rounder.

Andre Dawkins will play a big roll at Duke.He can shoot 3 with ease and can drive it to the bucket and finish above the rim.

Kenny Boynton Jr. is a player to watch out for in the SEC. He is a good scorer, but if he can develop a consistent jumper and passing skills, he will be alot better

I see a lot of these guys people have mentioned in the top 100 in the nation for recruits, most in the top 50,
I think the question was for guys like Stephen Curry who go unoticed then surprise people come the regular season.

Yea, I meant guys that dont get much love….nobody has done it right though for the most part lol…Lance Stephenson, Avery Bradley, Kenny Boynton and Dexter Strickland are not unheralded…

a big scoring guard just shy of 6’6.. hes about to be a frosh at WVU. he prob wont get much burn but the dude can score. he’ll be learnig behind da’sean butler who is also a good scorer. pepper is tall athletic and can play pretty good d, look for him to become an upgrade or an equal role of alex ruoff(more explosive/athletic) in a couple years. could be starting as a soph idk how likely that is thou..

kenny boyton, avery bradley, LANCE STEPHENSON.. not all guys exactly flying under the radar, just shows mad ppl have lack of anything besides common knowledge..

however dexter strickland has been overlooked imo especially the past couple of months. and his jumper is one of his skills that really doesnt need to be worked on in comparison to other things. to make it simple hes wet, and can score from anywhere on the court, his d is locked and he really is one of the faster players ive seen play live. he has to become more of a playmaker at UNC. way more talent then drew and thats about his only comp. should be starting by the end of the year. playing for the legendary UNC and roy williams ill think he’ll learn a lot. also hes used to leading/being on teams with loads of talent and has always been able to shine at st. pats ….look out ACC point guards

Illinois got a couple of sleepers in Tisdale and Mike Davis…Tisdale is a 7 footer will a nice midrange game and face up from the elbow…Davis was a bit inconsistent but he’s 6″9, lanky and an improving shooter.with a solid, quick stroke..there were a few games where he was unstoppable last year and with more tick he should only get better

i love strickland’s game and with Roy coaching him up I can see a Raymond Felton type player…he’s fast, smart, and really strongly built as a point

I saw some clips of him and he looks good. A 6’3-64 PG that is athletic, can score, and a good ball-handler and passer. He is going to Michigan. Does he count as “unheralded”?

Dominique Jones of the University of South Florida is a pretty good prospect. Next time he is on, check him out. Anybody know what happened to Mike Mercer??

Yea Jones is a guy I talk about all the time on here..he has no weaknesses. And Mercer was kicked off the team because him and a teammate were arrested for possession of marijuana…

Playing under Coach Huggins is huge for big, strong centers like Jennings. He is 6’8 about 250 and I could see him being a more effective Jason Maxiell. Watch out for this guy underneath.

actually most of those guys werent under the radar to colleges..most if not all were recruited by all the big time programs they just werent first team all americans and not known by fans who only watch end of season all star games or just read the top players on a basketball website

how is that under recruited or under the recruiting radar when theses gusy were getting recruited by all the top schools?..under the recruiting radar would mean not getting recruited by the top schools..like getting recruited by midmajors

i think maybe kim english since mizzo isnt a consistant top team..but i do know dexter pittman was recruited hard by oklahoma north carolina and reynolds was a mcdonalds allamerican. nic wise was also recruited heavely by top teams the hardest being texas and arizona..actually the only ones who would qualify would be kim,jones and battle..the others were 4 or 5 star recruits and recruited by the best of the best schools

Dan Jennings was a 3 star and had offers from other schools but not big ones. Well other than UConn.

My bad Quincy, I misinterpreted what you said about unheralded guys..yea. Unheralded guys are guys that weren’t expected to shine immediately or in the near future but have or that you think will, guys that fly under the radar to the point of being mid-major prospects, or guys that didnt play in the post season all-star games and dont get hyped much or at all from the regular people.

Igoudola you know about my man Mfon Udofia? He wasn’t invited to any of the BIG all star games but i think this guy could turn out to be a star in college and possibly be a first round pick in the future.

Mfon Udofia gets soooo much love here in Georgia. He is a good player and he has plenty of talent, he really reminds me of Jarrett Jack. A good sized PG (he’s not as big and strong as Jack), with good perimeter shooting skills and the ability to run and lead a team. I like him, great HS guy and a future impact player at GT…
